Any dance/electronic fans on the forum?
I’m excited for The Chemical Brothers new album out next month.
The Orb have just announced their second album this year, a new version of Metallic Spheres, their collaboration with David Gilmour. I never felt the original album landed right, so I’m interested to hear the new remix.

I been listening to a lot of Daniel Avery, he’s been pretty prolific in the last couple of years.
He’s currently out and about with Richard Fearless on tour, that would be some night out.

I love Drone Logic, a great modern take on that old acid sound. I only listened to Richard Fearless’s solo albums for the first time this year. They were good, quite ambient. I still love Contino Sessions all these years later. Banger. Aisha… he got out!

By the way, this is well known around here, but I've really enjoyed GLOK's (AKA Andy Bell!) output so far

Sometimes a little almost parody of themselves with the output.genius altogether though. These guys and Orbital..whose last album on the whole was cracking..Sleaford mods didn't fuck it up! On the blinding Dirty Rat tune...as well as Underworld are the backbone to any decent night in, out or shake it all about escapade.

Yes boys, these are the kind of recommendations I want. Not heard any Blanck Mass before. Didn’t realise it was a Fuck Buttons solo project. Just gave World Eater a listen, I dig it.

There’s a deluxe version with more tracks coming in September, looking forward to that. It’s a good time to be a 90s dance music fan. Orbital, The Orb, The Chems, Aphex Twin & Leftfield all putting material out. Just need Liam Howlett to hurry up and finish the Prodigy’s next album… 🐜

Very nice. Reminds me of a sound scape from a film or twinges of Unkle / Lavelle on first listen

Baltic Fleet. Great project by the touring keyboard player of Echo & The Bunnymen, I don't know if he's active anymore. The album "Towers" was among my favourite ones from 2012-2013. Easily digestible electronic music that reminds of Mogwai & krautrock.

Easily digestible electronic music that reminds of Mogwai & krautrock. I am partial to a little krautrock so I liked this. Love the cover to Towers. I used to pass through East Midlands Parkway for work, a train station which is right next to old power station cooling towers like that. They’re massive, always mesmerising to see them up close - this album took me right back to that time. 🚉

Am I the only one who haven't really liked a Chemical Brothers album since Surrender? Apart from the Salmon Song of course . But if I listen to those first three albums again, they really hit a sweet spot in big beat time with some amazing memorable singles. Life Is Sweet, Chemical Beats, Elektrobank (what a tune, if just for the intro and outro), Block Rockin' Beats, Setting Sun/Let Forever Be (for the latter I still desire the Noel demo), Hey Boy Hey Girl, Out of Control etc. pp. Sick Boys' theory of life, isn't it ?

Those first albums are their best for sure. It’s like their Definitely Maybe to Be Here Now run. But I still enjoy their later material.

New Aphex Twin EP, which was only available at Field Day at the weekend, is up.
I’m a big Aphex Twin fan, but it’s frustrating how he’s been releasing music for the last few years - mainly as limited physical only exclusives at specific gigs, which don’t get put on streaming. You have no chance of getting a copy unless you were lucky enough to be at the front of the queue at a random gig in Houston or Barcelona or something. YouTube rips are not how I like to listen to music and this is going for £1k on discogs 🤢

Aphex Twin’s Field Day set has just been uploaded. Watch it in the YouTube app to get the full 360 experience. I’m seeing him in Bristol this weekend. Really looking forward to it but kinda worried about having an epileptic fit 😅
