For me, don’t care about judging “albums”, it’s about the individual songs. And DBTT has no good individual songs IMO. Can You See It Now is probably the best piece of music from this era, in my humble opinion.

A million times this, for all Oasis after 2000. In fact, a combined NW/LS album is half decent - but there’s .. seven .. in a decade! - The Hindu Times - Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Lyla - Let There Be Love - Bag It Up - The Turning - The Shock Of The Lightening Agreed not enough Noel written/Liam sung songs My count was SOTSOG 6 HC 3 DBTT 2 (can’t believe it’s only 2!) DOYS 3 It's really sad and criminal how few Noel written/Liam sung there are on the last few albums. As others have pointed out, the Liam vocals/Noel songwriting combination is Oasis. As for Don't Believe The Truth, my favourite songs from it are Turn Up The Sun and Guess God Thinks I'm Abel. Overall it's probably my second least favourite album

Some albums are important to remember within the context of the times. Be Here Now is fitting of 1997, just as DBTT made much more sense within 2005 and the British indie revival at that time.
DBTT is also a vital album for Oasis, sparking Oasis’ relevancy after years of the doldrum dormancy.
The album hasn’t aged well, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad album. Context, innit.

My opinion on DBTT
When the record came out I was listening to it all the time
Songs I DON'T Like: Mucky Fingers , Part of the Queue
The songs I listen to but don't go crazy: Love Like a Bomb, Guess God Thinks I'm Abel
I would have much preferred that The Meaning of Soul had been recorded on record the same way it was performed live. I really like the song, but only in the live version.
I really love all the other tracks.
I really like how it was produced and how Liam's voice sounds in both DBTT and DOYS. He doesn't even sound so good on solo records (and I don't know how it was possible if we take into account that today, in reality, he has a better voice than at that time).
The tracklist penalizes the whole album a lot, some bad songs should have been replaced. Also it's a crime that Mucky Fingers splits TUTS from Lyla. In concerts it was fabulous to listen to one after the other.
On balance I really like some of the tracks featured in it and love the "rock" sound production in the instrumental part and Liam's vocals. But the album has various tracklisting problems. Other albums also have tracklisting issues. But DBTT could have been one of their best albums if they replaced some songs with others.

DBTT isn't just a bad Oasis album, it's a bad album period.

I like it but it irritates me that there are only 2 songs that Noel wrote for Liam.

In my opinion the album would have been better with this tracklist (My playlist of this album)
Turn Up the Sun Lyla Keep the Dream Alive Boy With The Blues The Importance Of Being Idle A Bell Will Ring Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Lord Dont Slow Me Down (Liam on vocals) Eyeball Tikler Let There Be Love

I have happy memories from when that album came out. I remember it, overall, as a good period for the band. Certainly in the UK, Lyla and in particular The Importance of Being Idle reconnected the band to a wider audience in a way that few songs had (Stop Crying Your Heart Out, perhaps) for a long time. It is the post-90s album I listen to the most and I like a lot of the individual songs - but equally I can understand why others might not be so fond of it.

My least favorite Oasis album by a mile. IOBI is good, the rest range from bad to absolutely unlistenable.

Crazy how people can hear the same thing and draw totally different conclusions from it. When I was getting into Oasis, DBTT was the 00s album that grabbed me more than any other and I still love it - not trying to dig anyone out who doesn't like it, I just find the subjectivity when it comes to music fascinating!

I listened to it again during lockdown and couldn't believe how shit it was. (And HC ftr) Tbh, even when I was 16 in 2005 I never really liked it. I didn't mind it in a I love OG Oasis so I kinda have to like it as I'm 16 way.

I know that many here will never agree with me and I’m okay with that. But I love ABWR. It’s one of my favourites from the album (and there’s a lot I like on this album). I like the guitar riff, I like the way Liam’s more rough vocal suits the song, I like the words.
I had been going through a bit of a difficult time and the day DBTT came out, I was out for a walk and listening to it and this one just hit me. And I felt better. It still helps clear the debris in my mind sometimes. It’s not an otherwise special or remarkable song but it’s always got a special place in my heart.
I also adore TUTS, TMOS, POTQ. I like GGTIA a lot and I think if KTDA had a better vocal take (like a good few other songs on the album) and had been done live a few times, it would have been a lot more impressive.

He doesn't even sound so good on solo records (and I don't know how it was possible if we take into account that today, in reality, he has a better voice than at that time). Honestly, DBTT features Liam's worst vocals on a record to date with the exception of some poor beady eye takes like "Soon Come Tomorrow". He sounds like a frog on the record, and performances like "Love Like a Bomb" are just nasty.

It was definitely on purpose that they weren’t cleaned up or different takes used. It was the garage band era so maybe mentally they thought they were the strokes, white stripes or monkeys. Who knows. Love Like A Bomb deserved a better vocal take. The Meaning of Soul might be improved with a better vocal take. Way too rough as is. Liam use to have a voice like silk. This era was a far cry from those days.

It’s strange that even though quite a few people loathe it, we’d probably all be interested in the wealth of material recorded at the time of there was an outtakes release.
