I don’t know what gives some the impression Noel’s attitude is starting thaw on a reunion.
He described him as a coward and then goes on about Liam’s people calling his people 😂 utterly absurd.
This is no more than Noel trying to take back the narrative he lost control of. It’s no doubt been an uncomfortable, unusual and disconcerting place for Noel to find himself in.

Anyone who thinks one brother is a victim and the other is the villain is delusional. They are both manipulators of the fans and the media and always have been. Both spin their own narratives. Noel uses old fashioned media, print and radio, Liam uses Twitter. Fans eat it up either way. Liam trots out aids and Manchester bombing the latter is fucking disgusting in my opinion, and Noel trots out gutless/crazy/angry Liam like he always has and sits back and watches Liam lose it. It's their showbiz and how they get attention.

Noel needs money because divorce is expensive, especially someone with his net worth, so now he's being disingenuous and trying to unload the decade long image of him being the impasse on the reunion towards Liam, with goofy comments like "I think secretly he doesn't want to do it but acts like he does". The guy who's apparently doing a full tour of performing the entirety of Definitely Maybe and the b-sides next year, alongside Bonehead, "doesn't want Oasis back", and especially after years of constantly calling out Noel into the press.
The truth is Noel won't admit the real reason now after all this time he's finally open to a reunion so for some reason tries to deflect it towards Liam and project the idea now that "No, it's Liam that doesn't want to do it", which is incredibly silly.

Both are just insufferable at this point. Liam knows exactly how to rile his fan base and Noel knows it’s so easy to push Liam’s buttons and make Liam say the dumbest shit known to man on Twitter.
I think Liam does genuinely want an oasis reunion, but I don’t think Noel has ever wanted a reunion since leaving in 2009. It’s funny that Liam has basically done more for oasis post breakup but he thinks a reunion will be the tipping point. Doing a Definitely Maybe anniversary tour is enough for the fans really. Noel finding old demos for the 30th anniversary is great as well. Both are doing their part in their own way.
Let’s say they do have a reunion, how long before Noel hates his life and wants to quit? I’ve said this before, look what happened to Cream, the old wounds reopened.
I don’t want a reunion, I just want them to be on good terms at this point. It’s draining listening to people “confirming” a reunion, Liam saying every year that a reunion is happening, then Noel putting the fake ball in Liam’s court.

Liam tried to call him when he was at his lowest point. There were probably real mental health implications and the best Noel could do at the time was not slag him off in the papers. Noel is now trying to win favour with the fans - that is all. FWIW Noel said exactly the same earlier this year on other interviews - both about the 'reunion' call but also about how well Liam's doing. They're both very immature. But I really don't want a reunion anyway. I know others feel differently of course, and that's fine. |

Some psychology student somewhere could write a great thesis on this brinksmanship! I'm not a psychology student but honestly, it mostly comes down to their childhood. I'm really surprised barely anyone mentions anymore that Noel was a beaten kid. You don't understand Noel's behaviour if you don't take it into consideration. In the Supersonic documentary, there's a part where I think Mark Coyle (or was it Owen Morris ? I don't remember) describes how Noel attitude would change when he was singing, and how you could see all the emotions he was feeling and then when the singing was done, he would call everyone a twat. It's a self defence mechanism, and it's why he will never call Liam for a reunion or just to admit what he could have done wrong. Cos, for Noel, that'd be showing "weakness" and he avoids that at all cost, all the time (and for obvious reasons) Also remember that Noel was the one kid being beaten by his dad, while the latter would be way less of a monster with Liam. That doesn't excuse everything Noel could have done, but makes his attitude all the more comprehensible. |
