I've grown up with Oasis (Liam is my age) and I can totally relate to everything Noel said in that interview. I'm amazed that on an Oasis forum, some people here are getting offended by anything Noel is saying. Have they not been following the same person I have for the past 30 years? It seems to be a trend these days to look for anything to get offended by, but I'm amazed to see it on an Oasis forum. Oh fuck off, it has nothing to do with looking for anything to get offended by... and the whole "fuck off" to the people who want to be called "they/them" isn't that an old fart getting offended by something harmless that doesn't impact him in any way? But that's fine I guess you can now check that checkbox on your modern complaints list now... In my case, if you take 30 seconds and scroll up a bit, you'll see why I'm disappointed, not offended, in seeing Noel become an old fart. That's all it is. And just like he's totally allowed to say all this shit, I'm allowed to call him an old fart for it, which is the kind of thing he used to do in the 90's when older people were bitching about his generation. For me, live and let live is a unconditional principle, not just a thing you say when you're 27 and then stop evolving until you die. Oh but today's generation is just the fucking worst right? Millenials, THEY had actual real legitimate ideals for society... oh no wait it was generation X... oh no wait it was boomers... no wait... In his career, he was often quoted saying things for shock value, playing the media game and so on, talk against politicians, musicians, etc. When he'd cross a line, he'd apoligize (even in the 90's)... But in the last 6-7 years, it's the first time he's shitting on actual people, on his fans, on progress that's being made, etc. He used to be wiser than this. And it's a shame is all. You obviously are offended, even telling me to fuck off because I dare to suggest some folk here are getting offended. To me NG is the same person he is now as he was back then, only mellowed a bit in his older age, so I see him as wiser.

And yes, anyone who wants to be now labelled `them' or `they' (looking at you Sam Smith) can fuck right off... I told you to fuck off because I'm tired of hearing that horseshit, which it is. That's not being offended. You can't dismiss every single critic by telling people they're too easily offended. That's how you become an old fart, no offense. As for they/them, why is it an issue? So you meet Sam Smith right and they say "Can you use 'they' instead of 'he' please?"... how is this a hard ask? Why is this an issue in any way to anyone? Who cares? Why fight it? Why be... offended... by it?

Two of my close friends are transgender. One is a local in my chess-club and the other is a non-binary person who is currently going through the long and arduous process of being approved for healthcare. It's a long, intrusive, and often distressing process. My transgender friend is one of the most polite, relaxed, and cool women I know.
They're not mentally ill, they're not woke snowflakes, they are entirely real and normal people who show a great amount of strength in dealing with a world of morons telling them to "fuck off". Their reality is obvious to me, and anyone who wants to deny them it is doing nothing but regurgitating the same old bigotries that were directed at black people or gay people in the 20th century and before. I'm not offended; I'm disappointed. And angered.
Love to them, and to Sam Smith, as shite as their Bond song was compared to Radiohead's.

Regardless, people are burning themselves out endlessly fighting about it on the internet, on a screen, repeating the same arguments over and over again they expect the other person to agree with. You need to focus on the actual people around you, work on doing actual offline activism/work for any of these big issues that will actually have the impact you want. Get things on a ballot and actual votes.
