Probably the highest quality song he’s released since he went solo. My favourite? Remains to be seen. But man… this is exactly what I’ve been wanting from him. Excited to hear INGUT too.

Really, really good.
Captures everything that a Noel song is and should be but also it's completely different to anything else he's done.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's my absolute favorite, but it's an instant top 5 for me and I haven't been able to say that in a long while now. Just beautiful.

Sounds like James Bond had a romantic evening with Stranded On The Wrong Beach in a hotel room in Paris 😘

I had to figure the chords out. Sorry for nerding out here but I like how he's doing more and more chord changes that aren't as standard in pop music or in his songs usually. Like less G Em and C. In this one he goes from a Bm to an E which is interesting and the D# maj9 and D# m9 in the verses (don't quote me on the chord names I had to look them up in a chord identifier so they might be wrong) makes for more interesting sounds.
For those who want to know: Capo 1st fret
Verse
D#maj9: xx0222 D#m9: xx0211
Then in the "If you say so" part he goes G, Bm, G, E
Then "But if love ain't enough..." it goes D, G, Bm, E, D, G, Bm, E, G
At the end when he sings "To make it alright" repeatedly it's Bm, A, G
I fucking love this song.

I'd just call them Dmaj7 and Dm7, there's no 9 there

Probably one of his saddest and most personal songs.

That’s some of Noel’s best original songwriting in some time. Effortless, controlled, vulnerable while never veering into pastiche. The influences are clear but they’re tastefully reimagined. Not one to usually make this proclamation, but this is going to age into being a classic.

I always feel like I'm listening to another song to everyone else when these acoustic-y ballads come out.
It's alright. It has some emotion there.
Accordion is a nice touch.
The "If love ain't enough" melody is pretty but the rest of the song-writing just feels quite absent.
It's got a nice mood to it but just isn't that strong of a song, for me.

bloody hell, i'm stuck in the aweness this thing of beauty provides. i don't know if it's his best song ever (tbf, probably not), but when he sings that "and if you say so - i'll bend over backwards - but if love..." part, it everytime hits me deep down there.
the most beautiful farewell song ever?

The lyrics must be very personal (hey there, Sara). Sounds exactly like what was going through my own mind when my wife left me. Seriously, haha. Wish I'd be able to write a song about it with worldwide exposure!

Shuffles along between major and minor chords, swings like a waltz and soars like a symphony. One for the ages IMO.

You can really hear the sadness. Very nicely done. Definitely a come down song. Don't think it would be on my tops list.
Though it certainly has replay value for me.
