Tour starts tonight! I’m super excited, one of the few nights where the shape of the show is genuinely a surprise. I’m looking forward to
- the first show since 2017 which doesn’t start with Fort Knox…
- seeing which solo cuts are still in the mix
- Going Nowhere and Live Forever, maybe Falling Down
- hearing what the new stuff is like without a live string section
Should be a fun one. I wish it wasn’t a coheadling tour, he did 12 songs on the Pumpkins tour which is probably what we’ll get tonight, certainly better than none at all. It’s his first Washington show since 2012, too, it’s nice not to have to fly somewhere for once.
Will report back.

Yesss...exciting times, especially w/ the album in our possession now.
Will be anxious to hear your report. Specifically...will the Joy Division cover make it across the pond?
The set list will kinda determine how gangbusters I go with tacking on additional shows (Philly, NYC, Boston).
I was kinda mehhhh going to the WBTM 2018 tour, but they BLEW ME AWAY!! It was a really rich, full band thunder and the WBTM songs were loud!!! Was hard to emulate that roar in the sheds opening for the Pumpkins last time around, but maybe it was my seats.
Finally...and I've been of this opinion for a long time, but seem to have lost out...I'd rather Noel play all solo & no Oasis songs than to hear Half the World Away for the umpteenth time. As a betting man, I'm guessing it'll be 50/50.

Unfortunately this tour is the wrong way round - in ‘15 and ‘18, he did headline UK and US tours at the front which were focused on the new record, then as he got into bigger shows and festivals, it drifted toward more Oasis stuff. This time he’s got a coheadline tour then big outdoor UK shows… I would hope by the time the UK/Euro indoor shows come around he does a mostly solo set, but I’d be sort of surprised, he tends to lose interest in the new stuff as the year goes on. For tonight I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Council Skies tracks + What a Life + Oasis. |

I flew across the pond for Liam last year, and I'm thrilled that this one is in my own backyard. Weather looks like it'll be decent too. |

Seeing him in Tampa and don't really wanna stick around for Garbage When it first went up on Ticketmaster, the first half of the tour was billed as Garbage + NGHFB, the second half was billed as NGHFB + Garbage, I’m not sure if that was meaningful or not but it’s possible. I think that’s how the Ryan Adams coheadline tour worked many moons ago. |

Noel’s gear is out right behind the support act so he’s on first tonight. Which is just as well because based on tshirts I’d guess the crowd is about 85% fans of Garbage.
