I didn't see a thread specifically dedicated to this tour so I figured I'd create one. I know it's being talked about in the general tour thread, but it makes sense to me to have one specifically for this. I'm pumped to see Noel since it takes forever to get him to come around. I'm not a fan of the co-headline thing, higher ticket price and shorter setlist. I'm also not a fan of him being paired with Garbage. Everyone I've mentioned this to was surprised they were even still around and the general reaction was "that's a name I haven't heard in forever." I get that the Garbage fanbase may say the same about Noel, but I also question if there is really even a cross-over between the two fanbases. There certainly wasn't during the Smashing Pumpkins Tour, at least at the Philly date I attended. There was very little energy in the crowd for him during that one, to the point where he tried to let the crowd sing the chorus of DLBIA and immediately took to the mic to sing it due to how quiet it was. Having said all that, I never miss a Noel/Liam/Oasis gig when they are in the Philly/South Jersey area and haven't since the 90's. I know he won't, but when he does this co-headline stuff in America he should honestly structure his setlist with majority Oasis tunes. That would guaranteed give him the biggest, and most positive crowd reaction. Then when he tours on his own he can do what he's been doing because those are his hardcore fans. I know he doesn't care and will continue on the way he has, but it definitely lessens the experience when the crowd is talking over his tunes and generally not caring what's going on because they don't follow his solo career. In any case I'm pumped to see The Chief, it's been too long. I'll admit SP put on an amazing show in Philly, but I went mainly for NG. It was pretty obvious that crowd was there for the former... A lot of empty seats with folks still funneling in during his set, plus I was surrounded by groups standing and talking over the music; so frustrating!! I'm hoping this run is slightly different. This is being billed as a co-headline with Garbage and Noel splitting sets; the SP run was him opening and built to allow SP the main time-slot.

I'm excited about the co-headliner setup. Honestly, most of the people I know locally would be way more excited about Garbage than Noel, assuming they even knew who he was. I've had that conversation a lot. "Do you remember Oasis?"
"Who?"
"Like Wonderwall?"
"Uh, maybe??"
And you can forget people actually remembering the names of individual band members.

The thing I'll always remember the most from that last co-headlining gig is the guy in front of me getting all super excited about SCYHO. SP's crowd was really stiff even as the music was so much louder. Seemed like the only ones really enjoying it were the guys next to me who weren't even there together!
There is probably more casual crossover with Garbage and Metric than Smashing Pumpkins.

Smashing Pumpkins were awesome on that tour. Still sound as good as the 90s. Billy and Noel really do have so much in common.

Oasis and SP were at their zeniths in the 90s at the same point in time. If you were an American teenager like me you probably listened to both bands religiously. Noel and Billy share many similar traits and talents. Both also fell out of flavor culturally at the same point as well in America. SP has a pretty good revival going on right now which is nice to see.

Ok, well, I can't argue that with you because I was a teenager in the 2000's in the heyday of indie rock/punk pop, and I'm just going by what I saw.

So are we all reading this as Garbage will go on last? Yes for at least one part of the tour. Noel might headline the east coast and Garbage the west

Got my tix during today's presale! The pricing was a bit weird. Pit tix were like $637 each, no thank you. Then the close rows in Prime were in the $337 range, and then dropped as you went back. Prime Row L was $277 and Row O was $187. Then in the Main section you're paying $99, and Lawn is $29. Just a break down for those wondering. I will say the pricing was a bit weird. I was actually able to secure Prime 300 seats Row N for $99. Then I saw Prime 100 Row O seats for $187. So I have no idea what that is all about. Part of me wonders if it is related to who is running the presale, because their were 3 of them going on at the same time. Anyhow, I'm super looking forward to it. Before starting this thread I said in the General Tour thread that Noel would be smart to do 75% Oasis tunes and 25% NGHFB tunes when touring the USA. I know he doesn't care, but I think obviously the crowd would react better to it, specifically when doing co-headlining stuff. Glancing at setlist.com it looks like during the most recent NGHFB gigs that he did split the setlist between Oasis and solo stuff. I just hope the atmosphere is better than the Smashing Pumpkins concert. It's a bit of a downer paying good money and then having to hear people talking louder than the actual show and generally not caring that he's on stage. Every other time that he came to Philly it was amazing because it was just him and the crowd were Oasis/NGHFB fans. The vibe was electric at those shows. I have no desire to see Garbage, I didn't care for them back when I was in high school and didn't even know they were still around. The idea of Noel touring with an orchestra and doing a mix of NGHFB/Oasis is something I hope happens at some point. I think it would be amazing. I can't wait for the new album. It sucks that we've gotten to the point where it takes 5 years to get new material and we only get 10 tunes. Just as an aside, the other thing that is weird as I'm getting older [turned 40 in November] is that as soon as Noel stepped out of Oasis he seemed to get old, visually. I feel like he still looked youthful when he was with the group and then transformed into this older fella as soon as it ended. Maybe it's just me, haha. My buddy does radio for the Philly Alt Rock station and he interviews Noel on Friday. I said that with everything going on in Noel's personal life, for the very first time I could see a reunion happening. Somewhere down the not-too-distant road. He said that 2025 is WTSMG's 30th anniversary and if it happened anytime, he thinks it'd happen then. Bring on the new album and bring on the concert!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit www.DayTheSkyFell.com to listen to my music and search @daytheskyfell to find me on all your favorite music and social media platforms! Got tickets for Franklin, TN. $118 each before fees for front row of section 202, should be decent seats. Looks like most expensive available in presale are $500+. I figured it'd be pricey for a co-headline. I also noticed on Ticketmaster, all the shows before that date are listed as Garbage & NGHFB. From Franklin on it's listed as NGHFB & Garbage, so I'm thinking maybe they swap top billing at that point and Noel closes the night?

Got my Merriweather tixs in Sec 101 for $149+...which was pretty reasonable for DC market & compared w/ locations around country. I thought last row of Nashville orchestra for $99+ looked like best deal I saw after scouring all the east coast cities more or less.
I think...if Noel didn't do these co-headlines w/ Live Nation, then USA would get just a 8-12 theater tour through major coastal markets, plus Chicago & Toronto. I assume Noel must get a guaranteed fee from LN to sign-up for a 25 date, 1.5 month slog through America.
I saw him/SP at Merriweather last time around...I was in the pit, so it felt intimate enough I didn't get put off by the SP fans not caring. The previous tour where he did theaters (Anthem in WashDC) was AMAZING!!
In the end...ya never wanna miss out on a Gallagher making it near ya. So long as we get 75 minutes of action, it's worth it. GOOD LUCK getting tickets!

Forgot about the presale, guessed at the password, and somehow got 2nd row for Chicago. Seen a dozen Oasis-related shows and ever gotten seats that close. Affordable too considering just one Depeche Mode ticket in the nosebleeds is 200 bucks.

Smashing Pumpkins were awesome on that tour. Still sound as good as the 90s. Billy and Noel really do have so much in common. Was seriously such a good show. I still pull up videos of that Fire & Rain cover every now and then.
