Do you think that the "brat of the NFL" will or should retire? I think he should call it a day. Its funny how nothing is ever his fault. Yes the team has had some devastating injuries but living in Wisconsin I have to watch the fucking games. He has had an awful year. Lets face the facts people. I still think he is a top 15 QB but I don't think the Pack are gonna be much better next year and I wouldn't want to see him on another team

He should definitly pack it up. (No pun intended) He's getting veeeeery old, and his team is going nowhere fast.
The Packers should urge him to retire and start getting Aaron Rogers ready. Get rid of Sherman and get someone else that can start the new era of Packers football.

Figured lions would start a thread like this... but I'll give it the respect it doesn't deserve by replying to it anyway Personally, I think Brett should hang it up. He's had a good run, the team needs to move on with all the personnel issues that are going on, and an aging qb that needs a special kind of primary receiver (sterling sharpe, antonio freeman, javon walker) to be effective. Without the solid running game they've had in the past, I doubt any qb (past, present, or future) could have made the packers a playoff team this year. That being said, Favre has earned the right to decide what he wants to do, and it's my hope (and surely everyone's in Green Bay) that he either hangs it up for good, or comes back for one more year as a Packer. It would be disgusting to see him follow the likes of Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, etc and play for another team than the one that he became legendary with. He's the toughest qb since they wore leather helmets. Disagree? You're wrong. I decided to leave this following part out because you didn't really rip on the Pack in your post, but here it is anyway Its a shame that jealous Vikes fans can't just recognize what a great competitor he is. I guess when you're sitting around an empty trophy case though, changing the subject with "gee, Brett Favre sure does suck, doesn't he?" is a good way to cope with the embarassment of having to cheer for a team thats on a "pleasure cruise" toward eternal mediocrity.

I don't know if the Viking fans i hang around are of higher intelligence than the ones you speak of, but we don't sit aroind and say Favre sucks while we are eating our dinner with our hands We actually have respect for him. How can we say he sucks? Look what he's done to us for the past decade And as far as yer rip on the pleasure cruise take a look in that thread about the pack's 2006 schedule. I can't be arsed to repeat myself

I think he should hang it up personally, it would be a shame if becomes one of those old qbs that plays past his prime and is traded away to some crap team, it happenes to the best of them. I think he should stop it now and be content with the records he's set. He really doesn't have to worry about anything he has a ring and 3 (that's right 3) MVP awards, and has the 2nd longest consecutive starts in NFL history, 2nd in touchdowns, and 2nd in passing yards. I say he just stops it before something happenes to him and he becomes a crippeled old man who can't even lift a pen, mostly because I haven't been able to get his autograph yet.

He's most definitly going to hang it up now. He's great friends with Sherman, and with him gone, I can't see him staying.
Like I said, it's time for the Pack to start a new era under a new coach and Rogers at QB.

He'll be back one more season if they get Childress from the Eagles to be their coach. They are good friends.

They are good friends. they could still have a decent offense next year getting Walker and Green back from injury Their O line sucks though and same with the D and they have cap issues don't think he should come back I think the Dolphins would be a nice fit if he decided to go to another team

He'll be back one more season if they get Childress from the Eagles to be their coach. They are good friends. HAHA! ;D The Minnesota Vikings have named Brad Childress the seventh head coach in franchise history. Childress comes to the Vikings following seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including the past four seasons as offensive coordinator. “Coach Childress has the combination of integrity, experience and competitive spirit that were important in our search for a new Vikings coach,” said Vikings owner Zygi Wilf. “Being a key part of the winning program in Philadelphia and his respect throughout the NFL made Brad the best choice to lead the franchise into the future.” Childress has eight seasons of NFL coaching experience (1985-Indianapolis, 1999-2005 Philadelphia) and 28 seasons of pro and college coaching under his belt. His first stint on the sidelines came in 1978 at the University of Illinois. During Childress’ four seasons as Eagles offensive coordinator the team represented the NFC in Super Bowl XXXIX, amassed an NFC-leading 43-21 regular season record and won the 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 NFC East titles. During his Eagles tenure the team had seven offensive players earn 14 berths in the Pro Bowl and QB Donovan McNabb was runner-up for the Associated Press NFL MVP award in 2000. Childress, born 6/27/56, is a native of Aurora, IL where he attended Marmion Military High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. Childress and his wife, Dru-Ann, have four children- Cara, Kyle, Andrew and Christopher.
