Can't believe these have been on the forum now for two days without any real discussion about it. Anyway, with thanks to Sadie and AppleScruff and Kyle Dale and Danny Mahoney on the Oasis Collectors Group Download at: live4ever.proboards.com/thread/93940/studios-sawmills-rough-mixes-filesTracklist 01 Cigarettes & Alcohol 02 Digsy's Dinner 03 Bring It On Down 04 How Does It Feel (Up In The Sky) 05 Rock 'n' Roll Star 06 Live Forever 07 Columbia 08 Slide Away 09 I Am The Walrus *STUDIO VERSION* From my ears, the last 7 tracks are entirely new, the first two being on the Whitfield Street sessions CDs. The final three tracks in particular are totally unique.

mega to hear, wish they'd have given us a couple of alternate Liam vocals over the Chasing The Sun era. sounds he was giving a lot, always trying to improve every take we heard of him during the early years
oh and that Columbia is MASSIVE!
thanks to Dan, Sadie and everyone involved

Liam's 1993/1994 voice was really something. A true burning star of passion.

Can never underestimate how the final production of the album changed the course of their lives and music in general. If these takes had been used then they'd probably have just been an obscure Indie band. Might have just got a second album, but they'd have made nowhere near the impact they did.

That vocal run from Liam on this take of Slide Away might be the most angelic and beautiful I've ever heard his voice. The Slide Aways are heart-meltingly beautiful. This version as a whole lacks the ferocity and euphoric uplift of the LP take, but makes up for it in the melancholia it gleams.

How did we miss these? These are massive, bigger than the Mustique demos in my opinion.
As said, for the most part barring some mixing, this could have been the actual album if it weren't for some bright sparks in Creation searching for the elusive sound we eventually got.
Liam's great as usual but the band missing that raw edge and a bit tame. Somewhat more like latter Oasis in sound when Noel's ego got too big to be questioned.
