I remember back in 2005 the NME published an article that listed all the songs from DBTT (including Stop The Clocks) with a description. I can't find it on the forum, does anyone have it (or the link so I can try archive.org)?

Can’t be that one since it’s from September. Needs to be like March/April.

Had no idea Stop The Clocks was on the original tracklist. I didn't even think it got beyond demo form for Don't Believe The Truth, so there must be a studio version lingering somewhere? I wonder who sings it.
Fairly decent tune, certainly not great, but who knows, it might sound better with the raw sound of Don't Believe The Truth.

Everything hilarious about the Gallaghers summed up in that one line:
"When asked what he thought of Liam attending the premiere of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie recently, Noel simply says, "No comment"."

Summer of 2005, what a good time for both the band and personally.

Pretty sure Record Machine was supposed to be on DBTT too. What a wasted opportunity. RM is ace.

Wasn't Noel a fan of Spongebob in the 90s? Right, you are Noel: "There's one on the Cartoon Network called Sponge Bug Square Pants! [Sic] It's this little sponge bug and he's got chocolate square shorts and he lives at the bottom of the sea and it's about his adventures. Fucking mega! That's the best thing about having a kid. Legally, they can't touch me for watching cartoons all day. I sit there with me daughter and she can't even focus on it yet and I'm going, 'It's fucking brilliant!"'

Summer of 2005, what a good time for both the band and personally. Same for me. Loved the 2005 tour and the gigs I attended starting with Clapham Grand and ending with Dublin right before Christmas. Enjoyed the hell out of that year in every possible way. Good times, great memories.

I believe that when Noel was promoting Stop The Clocks, he said they had several versions of the song. Some were Liam sung. Others Noel sung. They even had a version with them both singing it. This would make a cool EP in my opinion. 1) Stop The Clocks (Liam) 2) Stop The Clocks (Noel) 3) Stop The Clocks (Hybrid) 4) Stop The Clocks (acoustic)

That puts a different spin on Noel’s deadpan reaction to Liam’s premiere attendance. He can only have been jealous.

It was the opposite for me. 2005 was a shit year when it was starting to become clear that adulthood & responsibilities couldn't be put off, I was shunted into a crap, soul-depleting job and I never thought DBTT was all that much to write home about either.

I got some magazines from that era. If anyone knows which one is, I could upload it. ( in case I got it).

I have very fond memories of 2005, in general. Heard Lyla for the first time, while supremely high, in an Amsterdam internet cafe/coffee shop (can’t recall if it was a leak from here or oasisinet), then went to a couple DBTT gigs with front row tix (my best friend and I are on the LDSMD doc). However, I genuinely think DBTT is a poor album. The only tune I ever choose to play from the album is TUTS; rest of it is either mediocre or just flat out shit, in my opinion.

Totally forgot the track order changed with Stop The Clocks being removed at the very end.

I like DBTT very much. It shows more genuine self confidence than anything they released in the 2000s. To me, it has a lot of good songs, just not a definitive great hit song.

What is the biggest hit from that album? Lyla or The Importance of Being Idle? For some reason I think Let There Be Love is also very popular song (I don't know why). Lyla sounded great on the DBTT tour but after that I never liked it. Liam's attempt to do it never worked either. The Importance of Being Idle is an Oasis classic I think.
