I read that the worlds second oldest orca is set to be released after years in captivity. I really hope that it'll go ok when they do. Obvisously they'll do it bit by bit.

I read on Focusing On Wildlife that a wolverine has been spotted on the prowl in Oregon. A rare sighting ignites wildlife enthusiasm.

I read on Focusing On Wildlife that sea otters face a new deadly threat, and humans can catch it. We know that these viruses jump from animals to humans.

The lovely doves are back, well one of them is as I saw it outside my kitchen window at dinner time.

I read that a vaccine call has been made to save red squirrels from killer pox as in Wales they're being wiped out.

Some sad news, a sperm whale was washed up in Cleethorpes and while they managed to refloat it, they think it'll wash up again as they believe it's already died. It's always heartbreaking when anything like this happens.

Nobody really knows why whales and dolphins wash up on the coast like they do. But sadly it does seem to be getting more common now than what it used to be.

The thing is though some species of whale shouldn't even be in UK waters like sperm whales. But yet it seems that many sadly do end up here. I think it's one of the saddest things in nature when they end up beached.

Rarity to see this type of horse anywhere, not the rider (I remember one at my RDA had to be docked for a broken tail, long story was it was a tree branch that hit the poor filly breaking it clean. That noise in pain, I have never forgotten it. It's as horrible as it sounds.)

It'll soon be time for Springwatch again, it won't be long, only just over a month away.

UK wildlife is in such dire straights now though and it's just sad. I never thought that I would see the day when even birds like starlings and sparrows would be in rapid decline and red listed because they were so common when I was a kid but not anymore they're not.

Awwww, I saw not one but two squirrels this morning on my travels. They ran out straight in front of me. It's always nice to see them. Sadly though I've not seen any outside my kitchen window since a few weeks ago though.

I've just read on Focusing On Wildlife that two new species of posinous birds have been discovered. I never knew that there were any, I know that there's posinous frogs but never any birds.

So The Daily Star thinks that seagulls are scum do they? Well, the only thing that's scum are the people who work for that so called news paper and it's as bad as The Scum.

I didn't realise that Channel 4's Despatches did an under cover investigation on chicken factory farms. I don't know when it was shown but it's still available on All4 so I'll have to watch it.

I finally got round to watching Wild Isles on BBC IPlayer last night and it's just so good but at the same time it makes me angry knowing what us humans have done to woodlands etc. How brilliant and crafty is that blue butterfly caterpiller, I've never seen that before. it's just so clever though and those orcas were just wonderful. I've still got two more episodes to watch and then I'll start watching some of the wildlife series on Netflix.
