I’ll be going along to see Noel on the line up for this celebration gig, in aid of TCT this Friday.
It’s an amazing line up and a 4 hour show. Hoping Noel will get 30 mins or so.
It would be great to see an acoustic set, maybe joined by Gem…. Would love to hear something like the “Dreams we Have as children” live album. The likes of Listen Up, DGA, maybe Live Forever. Acoustic Pretty Boy maybe???
If it’s Half the World Away, Wonderwall and DLBIA I’ll be pretty gutted!

I'm going. I'm really hoping a certain Paul McCartney makes a surprise appearance! Did you see that Roger Daltry is now billed as 'The Who acoustic', so that's a nice bonus.
I'm also hoping to get something from Sgt Pepper in Noels set.
Should be an amazing night!

We were hoping Macca might make an appearance too, that would make it really unforgettable. I’m a massive Weller fan aswell so really cannot wait for this one 😁 |

I'm curious that he's listed as NG and not the HFB so should be the Oasis'acoustic classics!

Was a good set. Enjoyed Stand By Me, that was a nice surprise. He sounded great. Lot of love from the audience with the usual c'mon Noel!! screamed out in the quiet moments, always a laugh. Also good to hear him refer to Liam by name.

Haha, really nice. Both Liam and Noel seem to have cottoned on to Stand By Me's popularity in the last few years, which I'm still curious where it has come from in all honesty.
Also, is that the first time he's played the Royal Festival Hall since his unexpected lead performance for MTV Unplugged?

Audience laughed at mention of dwarves, to which Noel replied, why is that funny. More laughter from audience. Then the host asked him who was the 'grumpy one' a bit of lighthearted Liam baiting, and audience of course laughed again. But Noel was diplomatic. Said 'it depends who you talk to, Liam would say I was the grumpy one'. Then he said 'Liam chose all the Elvis stuff obviously.' Told a funny joke at the beginning about the band not liking Peter Blake's original idea and how he had to go see him in his studio to tell him that news, and it was like, listen, it's not me, I love it, it's the other fella. Audience laugher and comic pause. He thinks it's shit. Massive laughter. Real good vibe from the night. |
