Can’t believe he’s ok with a remix…

Love it! First solo remix for Liam and it's a really good one

Feels weird to set it up as an old-school hip-hop beat and then just have Liam sing the normal song over it.
Get a Nas verse on there!

I really dig it! I'm not usually a fan of remixes, but this one is really good. Great beat. Cool Hip Hop vibes. I would actually like to hear Liam lend his voice more to other genres of music (COYK gives us a little bit of this with I'm Free and Joker (to an extent).
Diamond in the Dark has great lyrics and vocals, but the song arrangement feels a bit under-developed. It's the perfect song to remix/rework.

For me the best version of Diamond In The Dark is the live one. It had to be recorded on disk exactly like in the live version. I love that song. It's my favorite of Liam's solo.

I haven't listened to it yet as I'm not a fan of remixes at all. They don't do anything for me.

Sounds like one of these remix "artists" who can't write their own decent tunes so they add a few drumbeats to some classic song and rap some nonsense (usually indecipherable and often nothing to do with the original song anyway) over the top now and then. Not sure if it's just laziness or lack of talent. Probably both.
And isn't it funny the youtube version only shows the likes and not the dislikes?

It’s pretty dreadful - I hope Liam doesn’t go the way of Noel with the remixes.

I’m not a big fan of remixes but to put the term artists in quotes is fairly ignorant, especially as this particular individual is one of the most successful hip hop producers and DJs of all time.

I've just listened to it and I never want to hear it again, it's crap. And, I absolutely hate rap music and there wasn't any need for it.

god, from the reactions to this (not just in this thread either) i would've thought that there was an actual rap verse intersected into a song off of liam's album, which would have been some groundbreaking shit... some of you guys are so offended that hip hop exists lol

I expected more, but I think this album has been too much for the armchair production people.

I mean DJ Premier is widely considered among the greatest hip-hop producers of all time and has been around since the 80s, so no need to disparage him. You don't have to like what he did here, but there are a lot of reasons for his fame, including being part of the seminal New York rap duo Gang Starr, who pioneered jazz-rap fusion (again, might not be your thing, but it was new and innovative and that gives him the right to the word artist without derogatory quotes.)

Gang Starr? Was that seriously their name or are you taking the piss? Oh, my bad. Obviously you’re so decidedly superior to the entire urban culture of 80s New York that the mention of Gang Starr might harm your fine, delicate sensibilities. C’mon, you’re the one taking the piss. Just say you don’t like it. Completely fair game. But what’s the point in making snide remarks about someone whose work you don’t know a single thing about? There’s not a good one.
