I’ve got his blue Supernova, is there any difference to this wine red Epiphone? I’ve been thinking about getting rid of the blue one for years so may get that instead I've got the cherry red supernova with upgrades and handsigned pic guard. I'm thinking of selling. |

I’ve been thinking about getting rid of the blue one for years so may get that instead My AVA buddy, there’s a now a bunch of YouTube reviews (with audio) out there. General consensus from what I’ve seen is that it’s more guitar than the retail price. Aka, worth it. But judge yourself. No idea what amp or pedals these folks are running the sound through. So hard to tell. |

For those who want to know, I ordered my Epiphone from Zzounds.com. Ordered in early-September and its taken about 6 weeks to get it. Shorter wait then the rumors I had heard.

I've upgraded my cherry red supernova with the following:
Matched set of Seymour Duncan '59 Humbucker Pickups, with Nickel Covers.
4 x CTS log tapered pots with Gibson USA black top hat knobs, identical to the originals, but a USA fit.
Gibson USA three way selector switch, with wiring harness.
Switchcraft USA jack.
Bigsby B7 added.
Replaced original pick guard with a black 2-Pac lacquered handsigned one.
Supernova truss rod cover replaced with a nickle "E" Epiphone cover, which is to replicate the Japanese Riveria that Noel played.
Sounds great. Thinking of selling if anyone is interested.

Last year I finally managed to find an original early '80s Japanese Epiphone Riviera. Same year and colour as Noel's legendary one. It truly is a fantastic guitar, one that will stay with me forever. They're rare as fuck and they've become very expensive. Good luck finding one if you want it. Then last week I bought the Signature Epiphone to compare it with the original. Long story short: it's crazy good at a fraction of the price. Epiphone knocked it out of the park with this one. I was going to sell it to a friend but I think I'm gonna keep it  I'll write an in-depth comparison between the two in the next few days/weeks, as soon as I've got time. For now, here's a pic of the two guitars together: the left one is the '80s original, the right one is the NG signature replica.  |

I was debating picking up one of the Epiphone reisuses. I picked up a blue Supernova about 5 years ago and it's become my go-to guitar, I absolutely love it. I've also got a casino that's my been my #1 forever, but for sentimental reasons I've stopped gigging with it as much. I just can't justify if I need a 3rd Epiphone semi-hollow or hollowbody guitar, let alone a 2nd NG signature model, lol
