Dutch football has been rocked by the news that David Di Tommaso has died. The FC Utrecht defender died in his sleep on Monday night, with reports suggesting that he had a heart attack. The Frenchman, who had no history of heart problems, was voted Utrecht's Player of the Season by fans last year. Di Tommaso, who was 26, started his career at Monaco before joining French second division club Sedan. He moved to Utrecht in 2004, and was a transfer target for Premiership club Portsmouth this summer. Story link hereRIP

yesterday was the remembance of DiTo for the fans in the stadium. its was breath-taking. the trainer gave his shirt (#4) to his (DiTo's) whife and told her that number will never ever be worn by a player at FC Utrecht again. It belongs to DiTo now. pretty cool imo. And the award for "best utrecht-player of the season" which dito got last year (in his first year!!!) will from now on be named "the di tomasso-trophy". and a great emotional speach by jean-paul de jong, the captain. plus of course a minute of silence.
very cool, if i can say that in this context.
