I hope to never hear HM again in my life, so I’m going with BTL.

Both terrible songs that I never wish to hear ever again.

Holy Mountain would have been universally panned too if it was Noel's first solo single to be fair.

I think BTL caused me less stress when listening to it for the first time.

BTL by a fair margin. Might have been closer if the production/mix on HM wasn't what it is.

Holy Mountain would have been universally panned too if it was Noel's first solo single to be fair. Exactly this. The main difference was Noel would never ever be that risky from the off. I still don't buy what he does now is as out there as he likes to pretend it is, but it's progression that he'd never have dared come out with from the off. He knew sticking to Oasis type songs was what the public wanted. It still is. That album plus a set of half Oasis songs and hes selling out the o2 Arena and the like. As much as it staggers me how much naivety was involved from Liam with Beady Eye (management not helping in the slightest either), i always admire the way there was no manufactured bullshit with them. It was 4 lads doing it like they were a band starting out in 1992. It was wrong to come out with a very different song to anything Oasis would have, but i can't help but wish that formula worked vs what Liam does now if im totally honest.

I voted for Holy Mountain but honestly those are two songs I rarely listen to. I don't like the album version of Holy Mountain at all, I think it's poorly mixed, poorly produced and I hate Noel's voice on that song. But I really like the live version. It's upbeat, catchy and a perfect way to start a show.
As for Bring The Light, I don't like either the album version or the live version. I don't think it's bad, I just think it's very forgettable and for me it's almost worse.

The results here are the biggest atrocities of this entire forum.
Holy Mountain is a proper tune. I’m not taking the piss, it’s a bundle of fucking joy.
The last time I listened to Bring the Light… I’d rather not remember. This poll should not be this close. 😠

Both studio recordings have issues, but Holy Mountain is still miles better.
I love Liam’s solo work, but I just cannot listen to any Beady Eye songs. Everything about them is just…wrong. The vocals, the songwriting, the production, it’s just all wrong. Plus it’s all wrapped in negativity.
I will never understand people who think Liam Solo and Beady Eye are similar, to me they are such different entities in terms of quality and vibe (possibly with the exception of the song “Meadow”, that one’s definitely a bit too Beady Eye for me). You can spot a Beady eye song a mile away, it’s like a bad smell.

You can spot a Beady eye song a mile away, it’s like a bad smell. I think the same about Beady Eye and Liam's solo work. It's night and day, and any comparison is an insult to the quality of work he's released so far as a solo artist. Flick of the Finger is the only very good song of theirs, along with the cover Sons of the Stage. I mean, you have the likes of co-writing with Gem Archer who was in some deeply uncool third rate glam rock band or professional songwriters with so much skill and expertise? It doesn't take a genius to know which one is going to be better and so it is proven. It's just amazing to think he never had the confidence to believe himself as a solo artist - he was the image of Oasis through his own personality. Simply align himself with talented songwriters and he's unstoppable.

BTL is dreadful but HM actually makes me cringe when listening to it.
