Fucking hell this one hurts. His voice was so unique and quite frankly, awesome to listen to. Rest In Peace, Mark.

Had Covid and it messed with his hearing according to an NME piece, gone too soon. Not a big fan or anything, but mourn the loss of a unique, bowel-shaking, authentic voice.
His reputation preceded him a someone you'd be wise not to screw around with in real life, which given Liam attempted to wind him up on the group's 1996 support slot he had with Oasis (captured in Mark's recent autobiography), makes Liam seem extremely brave or incredibly stupid.

I am completely shocked. Loved his voice. Saw him with his band and at acoustic gigs several times. Met him in person once.
Rest in peace, Mr. Lenagan. My thoughts are with his family.

I love Queens Of The Stone Age's Songs For The Deaf album especially the two singles from it.

I know most people will mostly remember him from Screaming Trees or his stint in Queens Of The Stone Age, but I'd highly recommend listening to his first solo album The Winding Sheet. One of my favorite albums of all time. So many great songs.

I'm not familiar with his work with Screeming Trees and Queen of The Stone Age, but been listening to him since 2012 and saw him for the first time in that year after "Blues Funeral" was out. I loved his work with Isobel Campbell and Duke Garwood too, but to me, he was the best with his band.
What a voice and I'm still very sad.

Didn't expect a thread about this, but nice to see. Very sad news. This has always been my favourite QOTSA live performance. Grohl proving drumming is his best position.

The first and only time I’d heard Mark Lanegan is with the Manic Street Preachers, this song off their latest album:
It’s one of my favourites off the album. His vocals are perfect for it. Sad to know that he is no longer with us.
