Does somebody know how The Cage got it's name? It was never listed on the album tracklist, did Noel spoke about it sometime? We all know it's Beady’s Here Now 's favourite Oasis track, so I would love to find out.

Because it’s cagey, and has been locked up in chain for the rest of its life....
TNOR.... now there is a calamity that actually is a proper track. Shameful.

Not on the back cover art nor on the booklet however. 🤨 But I've known it's called "The cage" since 2002, a few weeks after the album's release, so I trust it's from a reliable source (ASCAP or its British equivalent).

It was on a free CD with the NME as well where it was labelled 'The Cage'.

I've always liked the track but I haven't listened to it in a long time though.

Wish it was an actual album track actually instead of a hidden track, it sounds very interesting with those western-ish Fade In/Out sound.

Ah thanks! I just wondered. I was only 3 years old in 2002, so I don't know how the internet was used back then, and if the BMI database was a known thing. I guess the 'hidden track' is something from the past these days

Yes, that's the one and I never realised that Paul Weller did the backing vocals on The Cage either. And, you're right 2002-03 does seem like a golden age these days.

And, I can't really understand why it was put out as a hidden track really as it could've easily been put out on the album as an extra one if they didn't want it on the actual album.

This track reminds me a lot of the Tailgunner stuff. I know Noel didn't play guitar on that, but it could totally have fit on that album for me, very similar vibe and a lot of similar guitar tones

It wasn't something I'd ever wondered before.
