it's a bit dull, no?
and that winds of change part is a bit... eh, i don't know how to explain it... surely he must know about it.

Definitely my favourite of the demos Noel released recently and the first one I feel has the potential to be album worthy. Nice teaser.

Thought so. Autopilot production, settings pre-installed on Noel's pro tools. a demo no more, no less. Though Noel's demos used to be more exciting.

Love the positivity on here and I wish I could be like that but nah, not for me this one. It’s a poor b-side type tune at best as far I’m concerned. Musically not very interesting and the lyrics are dull. Needs to be kept as a demo and nothing more.

I really like it but We're Gonna Get There In The End is so much better, I wish it was on spotify

Also worth it pointing out that the demo is called "Demo 22" in the lnk.to URL on all his socials for the track. Great song! Then anybody tried changing the "22" in the url to "21" to see if there's any more demos accidentally hidden there? LOL Literally not what I meant by that. I only just thought that it was pretty unique to have the untitled version of the title in the URL as opposed to using the acronyms for song titles as long as this.

Definitely think he will add the Roxy girls to this track.

So have we heard now 2 out of the 12 tracks from the new album?

Well, it's 'Part I', so could easily be set to be merged with another part of the song on the album... And it's just a demo. It's like a mix of On Your Own and Talk Tonight with that wistefulness of SOTSOG era stuff. Good to have something new and does fit in with the times we live in. It definitely gives me Talk Tonight vibes too. Don't Go Away too. It's got a similar run down in it.

It sounds like a perfect album opener, something restrained and a scene setter for something majestic. I see it compared to the first album and Chasing Yesterday, but I don’t see how. The majority of those albums were all clunky plodding dad rock. This is anything but - it’s thankfully dreamlike and beautiful in a way those two albums aren’t.. Yeah I was thinking that, though in that case it'd be weird for him to release it? Definitely seems like an album opener and then part II would come in at song 4 or 5 and be huge.

We’re Gonna Get There In The End hardly sounds like a demo to me. This song is just a little bit too short for me to be a proper song. I like the direction Noel is going into.

As others said, it sounds like an opener: promising but incomplete as a standalone song. Which is of course totally fine for a new year's surprise demo. Hope he maintains the tradition in coming years

It's good but nothing really special at this stage. I'm sure he has like 30 demos that sounds exactly like this.

Seems like he's going away from the Holmes/electronic phase.

Really enjoyed this one, just wish when the brass comes in at the end it lasted a little longer, sounds pretty strong, just too short. Before it goes anywhere, it stops.

Very unusual song structure for Noel. Every time I listen to it, I always feel like there’s a second verse missing before the quick “bridge” and then chorus. Maybe part 2 will have more to it but the way part 1 ends, it’s feels like the END of a song, not the first part of one.
Anyways, still love it.

I'd be surprised if any song demoed we have heard so far ends up on the album. It's not really a very Noel thing to just give away something so early on, it may be just a feeler to see the reaction of going away from the Holmes experiment (which was dogturd imo).

Maybe you're right. But who knows as Noel might have decided to do things differently this time. However, I don't expect him to give away any other demos though and I think this is just a one off along with his give away on New Year's Eve in 2020.

The Back The Way We Came singles would've been enough to taste the water I don't feel like We're Gonna Get There In the End will be on it, it seems to me its train has passed, but the fact he presented this new one by talking about the album he's working on to me looks like a strong indication it will be part of it It's unusual for him, but then since WBTM he's done a lot of stuff that would've seemed unlikely just 5 years ago And that "part 1" in the title still leaves enough mystery around it and the window open for any kind of change
