Anyone present the following gigs:

Auckland March 9 1998 - Carter Holt Pavilion
Wellington March 10 1998 - Queens Wharf Events Centre

The Knebworth doco has inspired me to try and collate memories of their Nz tour. Brief I know, but people here don’t remember the band. Need to create a written record of their visit. Who’s knows what that will be, big blog or small book.

Depends on how many resources I get.

I wasn't, but I found a top 10 article of the Top 10 Worst New Zealand concerts that features Oasis at Wellington, where a drunk Liam would get pissed and leave the stage for a good time before coming back and finishing the gig.

In another article, the writer tells his story of the Wellington show. He went to the show because a friend of his still loved them (the writer gave up Oasis after listening to Be Here Now). The two went and they both ended up enjoying the show.

If I remember rightly, the NZ leg of the tour was when Liam took a whistle on stage with him one night, convinced it would add to the sound - only to listen back to it sober and realise it was terrible.

There’s a section on it in Paolo Hewitt’s Forever the People book.
