I think making a b-side album after 1997 is a difficult task. If you remove the remixes in the latter days, there's not that much strong b-sides to go with. In the 90's it was another story but to muster up 12 to 14 strong tracks for a proper compilation isn't possible I'm afraid. These are, to me, the best b-sides from Oasis MKII. - Let's All Make Believe (duh) - One Way Road - Pass Me Down The Wine - Idler's Dream - Lord Don't Slow Me Down (not a b-side except in Japan but thrown in for good measure) - My Generation - Shout It Out Loud - Carry Us All Those are the ones I think are good. You could maybe add Those Swollen Hands Blues. The other b-sides are... well... b-side material. And neither of the 8 songs I listed are an Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Underneath The Sky, Talk Tonight, Fade Away, Listen Up, Headshrinker or Swamp Song. So it could have been a fun thing to have, but like anything else, an Oasis MKII b-side compilation wouldn't have been as strong or good as the Oasis MKI was. It’s still lacking drawing power. The other huge problem with doing a b-side compilation from post 2000 is that it begins to sound like the “first” solo Noel album. He sang 90% of the b-sides it feels. Yeah. Honestly a lot of those post-1997 B-sides are just depressing throwaway stuff and Noel on lead just made it worse.

I didn't even notice that but yeah you're totally right! On The Masterplan, most songs are sung by Liam which is why it feels like a regular Oasis album. If they included the songs that were b-side material then there'd be more Liam because of the DBTT era (including songs that came out during the DOYS era) but still, it would mostly be Noel singing, which doesn't make sense for an Oasis album.

Having this pressed to vinyl as we speak. It bridges 'Standing On The Shoulder of Giants' And 'Heathen Chemistry' together brilliantly.

Although not strictly a b-side, Can Y'See It Now would be a smart track to have on any 00s compilation, as to this day it still hasn't received a UK release.
In fact it was the only Japanese bonus track (excluding demos & live recordings) to remain fully exclusive to the Japanese market, on official releases at least.

It was also available on the 'Brand Neu!' compilation CD as well, I picked that up from my local HMV, it didn't mention anything about it being an import. Edit: Just states Europe on the discogs page, I'm classing the UK still been part of Europe, at least back then 😂

I still think the track deserves it's place on a dedicated Oasis release here in the UK though. While they're at it they could include Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders as that is still only obtainable on the Goal film soundtrack and has never been issued on vinyl.

Can You See It Now is a good instrumental and it's a shame that it never seems to get mentioned much. I remember buying the Japanese version of Don’t Believe The Truth at the time mainly for my collection though. The song was available to stream on Amazon Music but I don't know if it still is.
