Most fans just like to hear songs sung like the versions they are familiar with on record and the radio. In the majority of cases that means Liams voice so he will inevitably be a bigger draw when it comes to singing oasis songs. That's not a slight on Noels ability to reinterpret songs that he wrote. They are just different to the familiar versions and, apart from the obsessive superfan that populates places like this most aren't willing to put in the effort to listen to a different take on a classic tune.

I'm sure if Noel did Knebworth today, singing only Oasis songs he wouldn't have the same turnout and success as Liam. People mostly want to hear Oasis through Liam's voice and attitude and his solo songs also offer a similar vibe. That's why things work with him. It's fascinating how you manage to bring noel into every discussion Of course people want to hear liam singing rock n roll star etc, he was the voice of oasis But the point is, would liam still be playing at Knebworth if he only performed his songs from his solo albums/the songs he wrote in oasis? No way Well yeah, no shit. Why would you have a situation where he wasn’t playing Oasis songs. |

He’s Liam Gallagher, lead singer and front man of Oasis. His solo songs sit ok amongst the Oasis songs at festivals. Once and Wall of Glass go down pretty well. Why do you think a lot of people go to see McCartney? |

I'm not saying he shouldn't play oasis' songs but I'm saying he should focus more on his solo career
Ffs they have made a 1 minute video for knebworth and only in the last two seconds "and BTW there is a new album coming out"

As you say, Wall of Glass and Once are now live favourites, with Greedy Soul and Why Me Why Not also still getting pretty great responses at gigs. Also recently he’s had a little less to choose from, with no new songs to play/promote. Normally what happens for both Liam and Noel is when a new album is out, there’s about 6 or 7 from that album, 4 from previous solo albums and about 10 Oasis. Happened with tours for both WBTM in 2017 and WMWN in 2019. And after those tours, they decide what to keep based on how it went down live. Plus it doesn’t help that for older artists, genuinely big UK hit singles (top 10) just don’t really happen any more, especially in rock. His albums have done well, but no new songs are going to become staples of the decade for Liam, Noel or their peers like the Oasis songs did. So tbh, it’s not like anything new has a chance at becoming too iconic, and that’s why the old stuff still gets played. |

I've pre-ordered a bundle, but I'm not going. I prefer see him next tour. Don't get me wrong, I'm not living in the past, but for me the legacy of Knebworth remains with Oasis.I'm happy for those who are going inclusief my friends in Manchester though.
