A couple questions from a confused American who'll be flying in for the Friday night Knebworth show: 1. Is there any benefit in pre-booking the train tickets through thetrainline.com or raileurope.com -- or will I still have to fight my way onto a train to return to London after the gig? 2. Should I be looking at the station called "Knebworth" or the one called "Stevenage"? Seeing conflicting things online. 1. I don't think there's any benefit in booking ahead. An off-peak Day Return should be the best option. 2. I've wondered about this too. I'm going to Stevenage because it's a mainline station and served by more trains. Maybe tomlivesforever can help.

Will the set list for these summer gigs be the same? Going to the Ethiad gig, wondering if the set list will be the same as knebworth.

About a mile I think, so walking distance. It might be a better idea that if you’re coming from London you get the train to Knebworth at least on the way there. As birchy rightly says a off peak day return from London is the best way to go. I’ll look up distances to Stevenage train station. But I think it’s about double. Getting there after the gig will either be a bit of walk of taxis that are hard to come by. Hopefully they’ll put on extra trains or at least make them all stop at Knebworth. birchy

Unfortunately the Big Green Coach only has a London return to the O2 Arena, which still would leave me almost an hour away from where I’m staying.

No where in London is an hour from where you're staying. The tube will get you there in 20 minutes. Its not worth getting a train return to London unless you want to leave early from the gig. All these people on about nights out after are having a laugh. Get the coach and enjoy the whole day.

An "off-peak day return" is just a flexible ticket you can buy on the day. You don't have to book a specific time. As garylineker said, the best option is probably the Big Green Coach.

Just get the train there from Knebworth, 37mins direct I believe.

Book a hotel now if you're thinking about going, coz they are selling out already Got mine booked. I know 2 people who did this and then had their rooms cancelled, only for them to be put back up for about £500 more. I know it's within their rights but it makes you a bit mad to say the least.

When you shit yourself in Mexico and then wiped your bum like a dog with itching anal glands, did you know that you would one day marry Danielle Bux and host Match of the Day?

Damn it! Left it too late for camping (bring you own tent) on the Friday and looks like they have sold out. Anyone know of any other pitches will be released?

Seems that Knebworth train station will be shut, but Stevenage station will be open. So bit of a walk post gig to get back to London.
Coaches seem sold out now and of course, all hotels went ages ago.
Really does seem like the powers that be are making this gig as difficult as possible to get to/from.

Might be to ease pressure on the trains by stretching people out getting them to go to Stevenage.

Might be to ease pressure on the trains by stretching people out getting them to go to Stevenage. i've just seen this too - our plan was going to be going from Kings Cross to Knebworth and then back. Trainline and all the other booking agents say trains back from Knebworth are still running. Really confused. As someone who lives close by, would you reccomend the walk to Stevenage? The gig is due to finish at 22:30 and the last train from Stevanage to Kings is 0030. I cannot fucking believe they would be shutting the trains. It's a fucking farce.

It's not really though, because the Big Green Coach is only going to the fucking O2 Arena which is nowhere near anything else in London unless you're in East London, and won't be arriving back until way way after 1am
