Right, so.
I've got an airbnb booked, and I bet they put another night on (I doubt it will be 125k capacity?), so fingers crossed will get tickets. No idea how we're going to get back to said bnb like but that can just be sorted when it's sorted.
Now, on the actual gig itself.
A) Really, do they have to? B) Is the line up that good? C) Liam will be great, it will be great, but part of me is just like leave it in the past, man

Not that into the idea of a nostalgia fest but it's great to see him still being popular enough to pull this off.
Any guesses for the possible attendance? More than Finsbury I'd imagine.

I'm going more because my mates want to, and I always said if Knebworth was played I'd go.
But it's a fucking pain, man. There's so many more better venues to do, with easier access.
I get why, I get they're going to sell it out and make a fuck ton of money. But I also kind of feel like a bit of a fraud that I'm going. This isn't to be miserable. It's just that I feel like it's treading old ground.

For this, it doesn't. The younger generation wants a chance to live their own Knebworth and if he did 80% Oasis songs, it wouldn't bother many. They're not buying tickets to hear the new music, at least not yet. These days, in general, a tour helps to sell an album rather than the other way around. In this case, they have literally connected the sales of one to the other to help both. Yeah but he's liam gallagher, not an oasis tribute band Would say he's Liam Gallagher OF Oasis. It's not a tribute band at all since he was the signature sound of the band, but his shows are Oasis-driven, even more so lately. Doubt he'll play 80% (or even 20%) of his new album at Knebworth. That won't fly. The hit single from the Spring and the one that's coming down the pike.

It's that for me. I'm 26, so was 1 1/2 when Knebworth happened. Of course, I'd have loved to have been there. And seeing the film last week was amazing. I just kind of feel like it's treading old ground but look if I get tickets I'll be buzzing. My thing is, surely, there's places with better transport links, better areas etc to book and they'd sell out easily enough? As much as people will watch the film and think yay, they're going to be the ones trekking through fields or bumping into supermodels or sleeping in a ditch, this is 2021 now, not 1996. This gig isn't happening for nine months. Those gigs in 1996, what was a it, a 5-month lead time? A different time, a different era. Hotels had already sold out this morning. I have no idea how we're even going to get back to the airbnb we've booked if I do manage to get a ticket, and they'll be extorniate too. Finsbury was what, 80k? I'd imagine this will be around the 100 mark? I think he'll put another night on.

Maybe just tell your mates you don't feel like going?

I've pre-ordered a bundle, but I'm not going. I prefer see him next tour. Don't get me wrong, I'm not living in the past, but for me the legacy of Knebworth remains with Oasis. I'm happy for those who are going inclusief my friends in Manchester though. Good to see that young generation can make their Knebworth.

Maybe just tell your mates you don't feel like going? Look, I'm buzzing to go. I'm really, really torn with it. I haven't got tickets yet, so i'll have to see. It's that nostalgia fest thing that I don't like, but I get that it will be an insanely good day at the same time. I just love it when Liam, Noel, whoever, treads new ground. I feel like going back to Knebworth is treading old ground. Whereas, while Oasis obviously played Finsbury, that was like a celebration of his comeback. I suppose he's played everywhere there is, so avoiding 'going back' would always be an issue. I can't not try to go. But I feel there'd be more suitable venues that don't tread over what should be left as a piece of history and a special event for Oasis... But look, if I manage to scramble tickets, I'll be absolutely buzzing to go.

I think the younger generation can have 'their Knebworth', without it actually being at Knebworth!

I am only 32 never seen oasis in the 90s only in the late 2000s went to heaton park 2009 and really enjoyed it. I just feel this is gonna be to much of a hassle to get there and find a hotel etc. Do you know what’s happening with his heaton park gig.

It's a huge achievement for Liam to play KNEBWORTH again. It would be hard to imagine him getting to this level again during the Beady Eye years. I also prefer this cover to his first two.

I doubt that I'll be going but I'm delighted with the album announcement. However, I'm trying to pre-order the bundle and cd at the moment but for some reason it's not letting me and yet they have my billing address. 😠

It's funny that we were only talking about Liam doing Knebworth earlier this week and then he goes and announces it.

Anyone have any idea of ticket prices? To answer my own question - £65 plus booking fee.

This will genuinely make Noel Salty. I can't help but feel that Liam is doing this to stick it to Noel. "If you aren't going to do some Oasis one offs with me then I'll do everything myself"
Time is passing and he can't wait around for his brother.
