Does anyone know of any interviews with people who knew the band before they were famous / got signed? I know there's the Paul Ashbee book, but there must be something from people who knew them before they were famous (e.g. school friends, co-workers, relatives, etc), who've posted on a blog, facebook, twitter, some podcast, etc. e.g. Paul Bardsley

Diane, now 27, got bored with Noel's daily routine of smoking dope and sitting in his bedroom at his mum's house writing songs.
🤭🤭🤭

First one is interesting, and while there's probably element of truth in the second one (well documented Noel was quite a private guy), it reads like a load of self-absorbed nonsense! Seriously, it reads like one of those satirical 'kiss and tell' stories in Viz magazine.

Fair to believe she didn't expect him to get that far Always found the "all his songs are about me" quite ridiculous, but guess everyone back in the 90s was gonna try to place himself/herself in the story

Seriously, it reads like one of those satirical 'kiss and tell' stories in Viz magazine. The 2nd story is from The People newspaper, so has been sensationally spun by them. They seem to have a requirement of throwing in random comments about a star's sex life to get the public interested and sell a few more copies. Wouldn't normally quote them, but there's so little out there from the pre-fame days!

Didn't the girl who inspired Talk Tonight also say that all of Noel's songs were written about her? Maybe Noel says that to every girl he dates.

Guess that's what Noel means when he says he likes songs to have a 'universal appeal'. Nifty fucker

And on the other side of the romantic scale, Married with children.

The only thing we really know about her is that Noel wrote Slide Away about her, she worked for Granada TV which helped Oasis get their first TV appearance on the word, and she was "well fit" according to what he said on Matt's podcast.

Thank you, confused those two then.

Who still to this day remains an absolute mystery to be honest. There's some discussion about Louise Jones being the girl next to Noel in the Hacienda video. The video on that page is at a terrible angle, but you can sort that by: - pressing F12 - copy and paste in: $('.reddit-video-player-root').css('transform', 'rotate(270deg)')- press return
