In between WBTM and the 4th record, we got a full album’s worth of new material. Just curious to see popular opinion - which is your fav of the 4 EPs: BSD, TITP, BMR, or the “Back the Way We Came” songs?

I wanted to vote for This Is The Place cause I love 2 of the 3 tracks (TITP and A Dream) and Evil Flower is good although I prefer The Reflex remix, but after hearing Flying On The Ground I'm inclined to go for the last 3 songs

The Black Star Dancing EP is impeccable and the worst is probably This Is The Place, on which I only like A Dream. A close second would be Blue Moon Rising, only because the title song is bit too short for me. I can't say much about the latest bunch of songs because I am yet to listen to Flying on the Ground but I totally get why We're Gonna Get There hasn't been released - it sounds like a weak Chasing Yesterday b-side.

This is a hard one as I like some of the songs ...but not every song on every EP.
Thank the lord for the shuffle option.
BSD and Sail On are cracking tracks so perhaps this is my winner by default.
Sail On probably my fav B side due to its single stand out unique quality.
I can't listen to the lot in a row - to me the style shows different writing periods and Throwback that don't quite fit in one sitting.

They're all kind of meh, on the whole. First choice is definitely the best, but that's because it's not an EP and is really two tunes that Noel knew were good enough for a Best Of, plus a nice-ish demo. The other three, the actual EPs, always seemed more as a bridge between bigger and better things. Only tunes I'll really see myself going back to are Blue Moon Rising, We're on Our Way Now, and maybe A Dream is All I Need to Get By. This is the Place is fun but a bit repetitive. Might combine them into one thing:
BACK THE WAY WE CAME - EP
1. Blue Moon Rising
2. This is the Place
3. A Dream is All I Need to Get By
4. We're On Our Way Now
5. Black Star Dancing
6. Flying on the Ground
7. Sail On
8. We're Gonna Get there in the End
But then I might be a right bastard and put We're On Our Way Now on Chasing Yesterday. Nothing you can do to stop me.

Black Star Dancing, Rattling Rose, Sail On is the best of the EPs. None are weak, like the good old time of Oasis EPs.
Overall, it makes a strong record, but the fact that it's been released over the cours of 3 years make it seem like like the song are weaker than they actually are. That's why i'm against EPs most of the time, our mind need to have a "there, that's the album", like the old vaginas that we all are.

The BSD EP has grown on me
Don't think either Sail On or Black Star Dancing are great song but they both have their strenghts and offer you different things
Sail On gives you some classic acoustic Noel vibes, although I don't think it manages to capture the same magic as many of the Oasis b-sides (or Dead In The Water, for that matter)
Black Star Dancing is a very cool sounding song, he clearly went more for the vibe than anything else and that's not what you'd expect from a Gallagher release, I think I'd be more fond of it if it was an album track, doesn't make a lot of sense as a lead single imo
Rattling Rose is my fave by far, top tune
This Is The Place is my favourite from the EPs, A Dream is the standout tune, a great combination of a classic Noel's melody and a bit of an experimental production for him, title track I wasn't a fan of at the start but I love it now, really dig the acid house and New Order kind of vibes
Evil Flower is good but a bit restrained, I'd love it if they did something crazier with it, I find myself listening to the remix a lot more
Blue Moon Rising used to be my favourite but Come On Outside got old very quickly and Wandering Star is badly produced, although I believe it's a nice little tune in itself and it's got some of my favourite lyrics
The title track though still is my top choice from the EPs and I believe one of the best things he did with HFB
First option is the best collection of songs and they somehow also fit well together in terms of sound and mood, but to be fair, they're the only ones meant to be standalone tracks
I'd rank the EPs as:
This Is The Place
Black Star Dancing
Blue Moon Rising
Back The Way We Came would top the list as Flying On The Ground edges everything else imo, On Our Way is a quality tune and We're Gonna Get while I got bored of it after a couple of months is still alright
