your most overrated from Oasis and post oasis
1. Once - Liam saying this was one of the best songs he's ever worked on is embarrassing. "Just clean the pool and send the kids to school" what the f*ck is that?
2. The Roller - overrated to the point where its laughable, shit track
3. Fade away (war child edition is far far better a 10/10, however, this is the best song on this list)
4. Little by little - probably should be in first place tbh, sounds like billy ray cyrus
5. I hope, i think, i know - just because its one of the only listenable tracks off BHN (in terms of length, production) doesn't mean its fucking live forever

Totally agree with the top two, especially the The Roller, don’t get the love for that plodder at all,
Others are,
Ballad of the Mighty I- It’s ok nothing more, feels like it’s going somewhere and then doesn’t
Cigarettes and Alcohol- Maybe not by people on here but from the wider public and Noel himself. Might be my least favourite from DM.
Talk Tonight- Boring

Acquiesce - it's good, but I don't believe it'd be as highly rated if it wasn't for both brothers singing it
There at least 5 better songs on The Masterplan
Songbrid - again, not to say it's bad cause it's not, but Liam's written better
It is a nice little tune, nothing more tuan that
Talk Tonight - a very nice ballad with some of Noel's most personal lyrics, but not the classic it's made out to be
The Roller - a catchy Lennon rip-off, but not really something to write home about
Wall of Glass - now this is controversial, I know. It's got some great rock n roll vibes and I like how no nonsense it is, but I do think there are better songs to define Liam's solo career

It's good to be free - BOOORING to the extent of putting me in a coma until stay young and headshrinker come along to wake me up again
I Hope, I Think, I Know - starts off fantastic however the chorus stumbles, and eventually falls flat on its face.
Morning Glory - Dont get me wrong this is an absolute Stomper of an instrumental live. However take away all the production and just play the song on an acoustic? Nah not for me mate.
Lyla - Feels like it was written cause they needed a big singalong tune at the time and the result feels like Oasis by numbers, and not in a good way. Not a terrible song but incredibly overrated imo. (arrangement doesn't help its case either)
Let there be love - so much potential for what ended up being one of the dryest sounding boring songs from a rock band which I've ever listened to. The perfect way to end a boring album

Beady Eye - Is there an overrated song ? No. They’re all terrible 😂 Liam apparently rates Soul Love since he's revived it for recent tours, he played it when I saw him live. A load of people used it as an opportunity to go to the bar / check their phone / study their shoes (to paraphrase Noel's opinion of Andy Bell). I know this thread is about opinions but.. Acquiesce.. Fade Away overrated? Dear God no. Talk Tonight I can kind of see if you're not a big fan of strummy ballads and Noel's vocals weren't always the best at this time, Liam also slagged this one off in 1995 famously. It's Good to be Free with Liam vocals is the bollocks, with Noel vocals it's just Bollocks. Just my own opinion. |

Morning Glory - Imagine another song being interchanged with it during their 2000s tours. It's not like it would be that hard to alternate one song with another in every other setlist. I have never understood why it was played so much. Both by Oasis and Liam solo.

I'm glad The Ballad of the Mighty I is finally rated as it deserves to be on here  As for Beady Eye, there are some good songs (the mentionned Soul Love above), but none are "overrated". They're just here for no one to care about. |

I really don't understand why y'all call Morning Glory overrated. I think it's brilliant.
I would say Little By Little, Let there be love, Who Feels Love, I Hope I think I know and, lately, Talk Tonight (I used to love it, but it shrinks on me)

I've always loved Morning Glory too and the same goes for Little By Little, Talk Tonight and Let There Be Love too. But Who Feels Love has never been one of my favourites. However I wouldn't say it's over rated though.

It depends on what is meant by overrated. In my opinion, a song needs to be played live for a tour or on the radio before it can be deemed overrated. That in itself means the song is 'rated' by the band and/or the public. On an Oasis forum there are going to be many songs that we as fans rate that others fans won't, for example, I think it can depend on something like seeing it live at a great concert and experiencing the song or not.
In light of this my 5 are:
Cigarettes & Alcohol
Shakermaker
It's Getting Better, Man (album should have finished with All Around The World)
Shock of the Lightning (never saw them live when this was released, hence me not experiencing it)
Roll With It (awful, awful song)
