Hey all,
Just had some idea (while taking long shower 😊) about the Don’t Believe the Truth era and how they were sitting on lots of material in that period. So what if they would release it a la Morning Glory. So echoing the songs, excerpts and singles. Here is what I came up with, I call it Lord Don’t Slow Me Down. As a fan of Stop the clocks (and esp. the potential with liam vocals) this has like a centre place in the era!
Lord Don’t Slow Me Down (2005) (DBTT, Morning Glory style)
1. Turn Up the Sun (hello) 2. Lyla (rwi) 3. Stop the Clocks (liam vocals) (ww) 4. The Importance of Being Idle (dlbia) 5. A Bell Will Ring (hn) 6. Can you see it now? (excerpt 1) 7. The Roller (sms) 8. Who Put the Weight of the World on my Shoulders (cns) 9. Love Like a Bomb (se) 10. Lord Don’t Slow me Down (liam) (wtsmg) 11. Can you see it now? (excerpt 2) 12. Let There Be Love (cs)
Singles
1.The Roller (way before album release like sms) 2.Mucky Fingers 3.The Meaning of Soul 4. Pass me Down the Wine
1.Lyla (lead single) 2.Revolution song 3.Keep The Dream Alive 4.Guess God Thinks I’m Able
1.Stop the Clocks 2.Boy With the Blues 3.Part of the Queue 4.Won’t Let You Down
1.The Importance of Being Idle 2.Evil Eye 3.Sitting here in silence 4.The Quiet Ones
1.Lord Don’t Slow Me Down (together with film release) 2.Record Machine 3.Eyeball Tickler 4.Don’t Stop
Actually surprised to see how much material also was on the shelves tor lease 5 singles with all 3 b-sides, giving the singles more importance (in an alternative timeline where it was still important in the zero’s).
Wonder what you all think. Better, worse? Nice idea? Or leave the thoughts while showering? 😊
Cheers

I really like this. What a release this would have been!
Except for one exception...
Seeing Record Machine as a B-Side makes me weep... I'd have released this as a single and swapped it out for LTBL as the album closer. Not sure where I'd place LTBL though - probably where Weight Of The World is and relegate that to a B-Side.

Why in God’s name would you keep Love Like a Bomb on the album? One of the bottom 5 oasis songs and definitely Liam’s worth studio vocal

One of the bottom 5 oasis songs and definitely Liam’s worth studio vocal To mirror the 'Light-hearted, acoustic driven' she's electric from morning glory. While indeed the vocal take could have been better, I think it is a good tune with a really great melody. Each to their own.

agree with most of the b-sides. I'd keep Record Machine for a greater purpose.
1. Turn Up the Sun 2. Lyla 3. The Roller 4. The Importance Of Being Idle 5. Stop The Clocks 6. Mucky Fingers 7. Those Swollen Hand Blues 8. Part Of The Queue 9. A Bell Will Ring 10. Lord Don’t Slow Me Down 11. Can You See It Now? 12. Let There Be Love
