So I watched the Where did It All Go Wrong from Jools Holland, which is a great performance by Noel. Got me thinking, how do you think he improved his vocals so much from 94/95 to 97 and beyond. I feel like 2000 was peak Noel vocals. Did he go see a singing instructor?

He stopped shouting, he got a bit more comfortable in the role and he also just naturally improved.
Listen to acquiesce from Knebworth or Maine Road and it's painful hearing him. Whereas Familiar the Millions it genuinely sounds amazing when he comes in. He even does little vibratos on 'soul' and things like that.
Confidence.

i prefer young noel over old noel any time of the day. i love his shouting. i love the aggressiveness in his voice. dlbia in 1996 and dlbia in 2020 are basically two different songs. one is pure rock n roll, the other is a song for house wives, waving their lighters.

Noel in the 90s sounds not good live. Since 2000 he sings better, he has a good voice, but he is not particular. Noel can never be considered a great singer because although he can sing and maintain good vocal health, he has nothing special compared to the voices of many other pop singers. And his voice is not suitable for all kinds of songs he writes.

I think he was just trying to sound like Liam in the early days, and found his own voice later on.
There's a crossover point around 2000 where they both sounded fantastic.

Both Gallagher's vocals were on their peak in 2000 imo.

I think his peak was actually the Chasing Yesterday period, but yeah as you all said, he got sober and that led him to have more control over his vocals Early 90s, at least live (his vocals were fine on record, I guess cos he mostly did semi-acoustic things) he was just shouting as if he was trying to make up for something he didn't have compared to Liam From SOTSOG onwards he found his own thing and started feeling more comfortable with it

I refuse to listen to him singing live before 2000 (1999). That few songs that were played live only in the 90s aren't worth the bad experience.
I think he perfected it around 2005 and his peak is definitely the Little by Little performance from International Magic.

I think that Noel improved dramatically in the 2000s with his voice as he was and still is nice to listen to live. But in the 90s I'm afraid not so much as his voice just wasn't as good.

This is probably my favourite Noel vocal. Sounds absolutely on fire. I wish we had more Noel electric gigs from back in the day!

He just sounds so different say, in 1997, compared to 2000 onwards. Before 2000 he wasn't necessarily more pitchy but rather he just kind of was all over the place with his notes during his vocal delivery. My favorite example of Liam and Noel blending well is probably Barrowlands 2001, especially on Columbia and Gas Panic!

Noels voice sounds unique here, like his voice is evolving in this song, you can hear young Noel and maturing Noel.
