I wonder what the big song on the album will be? The one we keep coming back to years later.

Coloratura is a cool song title. The rest, oh boy...

The last song clip in the trailer interest me the most. I’m assuming it’s the song dropping on Friday. Dig those Disney Fantasia meets Close Encounters strings. Don’t disappoint! The track at 35 seconds caught my interest immediately. I got Songs of Innocence flashbacks (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I don't mind Human Heart(already played live) Higher Power is catchy but nothing special but the rest sounds pretty meh. Will wait to hear the whole album though.

That is a really boring and ugly album cover... Based on the trailer, this seems like a Mylo part 2 with some X&Y vibes because of the space theme. After the first two albums, Coldplay have really become a singles band for me, with the exception of Viva and Ghost stories. Personally, they've become too poppy for my liking and I thought Ghost Stories was the only consistent album for their albums last decade... Hopefully they Musical Spheres is there next best album up there with Parachutes and Rush of Blood.

Like a high school student made it in photoshop but in 1999. There is a lot of setup and explaining with the concept behind the album. Mylo was supposed to be like this with other media tie ins. I think it got a comic book on a limited scale but it was clear maybe more was planned or desired. Perhaps a cartoon? I wonder if there will be more to the Spheres concept on tv. Does the listener really care about these made up planets, language and clothes? Prob not. I’m curious.

I felt a couple of times this song wanted to bust into “Moving To Mars” energy.
I do love those orchestral/piano trills throughout.

There is just nothing worse about this masterpiece. Its miles ahead of nearly every closer they have done. Except Death and all his Friends probably. But this song is just special. Hands down, Coldplay
The "Oh, its a crazy world it's true" just left me in tears....

If Amsterdam wasn't such a brilliant piece this would be their best closer ever.

Meh. Found it a bit boring. I at least like they are trying something different and less mainstream with it though. But maybe it will grow on me.

The Part when Jonnys guitar kicks in until the last "ohohohoh" is the BEST they have done for years. The "it's a crazy world it's true"-line is just so heartfelt and honest.Awesome

Expected something more anthemic reading the comments, but it's definitely interesting and well done, and there's no denying to the sense of musical freedom it encapsulates Not sure how I feel about putting it out now though, this seems like something that needs to be heard in context to shine

Hands down, Coldplay The "Oh, its a crazy world it's true" just left me in tears.... Don’t sleep on “O”! Truly one of their most beautiful songs. O is gorgeous, learned it on the piano recently, and it was genuinely an important song in helping me recover from a break-up in a positive way. And the way it follows A Sky Full of Stars, chef's kiss. Was talking about this with my dad recently; there are so few positive male role models in music, but Chris Martin - for all his middle-class centrist wankery - does seem to be one. And, staying on topic, the man knows how to write a closer! Amsterdam, Death and All His Friends, O, Up&Up, Coloratura. Only one was a single, but all are bangers.

This escaped my mind completely, mainly being sick to bloody death of Higher Power, so it almost completely passed me by.
But it's genuinely surprised me. I was a bit ho-hum about the beginning but found myself swept up in its sentiments as it crescendos, particularly when the jazz piano vibes and guitar solo kicks in. Any other act doing this and it really should be a self-indulgent mess but the musical ambition takes flight because of Chris Martin's yet again effortless sense of melody.
There were indications of the ambitious and adventurous Coldplay on Everyday Life returning and it's so damn nice to hear it from them again. What a great gift this was.
That's piqued my curiosity so I just went and listened to the trailer - seems like they're throwing bagloads of tricks at this album, a lot of variety and energy. Of course, it's easy to distil that into a minute trailer and the album as a whole may be shite, but I am holding out for it being more interesting sonically than the putrid Head Full of Dreams (an album that suffers not from its pop bandwagoning tactics, but simply its really really insipid lightweight shite songs).

Cool new song, sounds a lot like Pink Floyd if you ask me, Wish You Were Here and Confortably Numb merged into one song.
