I love Riverman and always have. It's the perfect song to open the Chasing Yesterday album with.

Totally forgot about this video, and song.... Love it though Yes indeed a quality song. I haven't listened to it in an age either. Makes we remember why I always loved Noel's earlier records.

I loved it at the time of release but am pretty nonplussed by it now. It's nice, but I could do without it.

It's certainly one of my favourites by Noel solo but I can't possibly say which song is my favourite though.

Probably not a popular opinion but Riverman is truly top tier Noel solo for me.
The sound is so dreamlike and magical, it's like the track just appeared out of nowhere, spilling out in the studio exactly as it sounds, everyone on point and at the top of their game, like it didn't need mixing. The sound is perfect, Noel's voice is calm and haunting, the piano notes drirting in and out are so simple yet powerfully emotive. Still sends a shiver down my spine all these years later.
When my girlfriend ran the marathon in 2015 I literally walked around Paris in the sunshine listening to this and the instrumental version on repeat for hours. I literally couldn't get enough of it. I guess we've all had it when when a song connects with you so much, it never lets go. This is one such track for me.
I even like the sax which is not normally favourite instrument at all! π
