EIL also have the record store day version in stock. But I guess they'll sell out soon.

Overall I'm quite impressed with the album. The two new singles are very good and I like International Magic way more than I thought I would, especially considering it's an instrumental. The acoustic versions on disc 3 I think are really good, the Knockin On Heavens Door intro on TMWBTM is brilliant.
The 3rd disc however is way too WBTM/EP era heavy. And the instrumentals (except International Magic) are totally pointless in my opinion. A couple of interesting demos from either of the 3 albums would have been far more welcome, or even live tracks. A killer live version of Freaky Teeth would surely have become the definitive version of the song?

Even the rarer bonus tracks like Simple Game Of Genius would’ve been better for casual fans than the instrumentals. As it stands though, the hardcore fans got the equivalent of a couple of really good RSD EPs out of this so can’t complain too much. X

Having listened to the bonus disc twice I feel like that track list sequencing was really erratic and did not feel smooth at all. I like all the tracks, though the points raised about the instrumentals are valid, but the disc feels quite chaotic. I programmed the track listing myself for the second listen and the collection really benefited from it.
Highlights to me are the Skeleton Key mix of TITP and the acoustic TMWBTM. The Skeleton Key mix of BSD was really interesting too, I hardly recognized the song.
As for the two new songs, I quite prefer Flying on the Ground but I do like both. I’m glad the album collects quite a few of the EP tracks previously unavailable on CD.

I’d have liked if the Bonus CD contained the following:
- Interludes (Wednesdays 1 & 2) as a single track as it was originally recorded.
- Everybody’s On The Run (acoustic)
- It’s A Beautiful World (acoustic)
- Dead In The Water (studio recording)
- She Taught Me How To Fly (Reflex remix)

Yeah they really are excellent. Love James’s remix of BSD which is odd because I don’t like the original. Overall, I think Back The Way We Came is great. *edit: actually it’s not odd, because I love The Coral and clearly the remix sounds like them!

I didn't buy the compilation. I like the new tracks; but that bonus disc doesn't do it for me to buy the whole thing. Don't care for instrumentals and mediocre remixes. If he made a cd-single of the 2 new tracks I'd buy that :-D

I do think there should have been a physical release of the two songs as a single but at the same time that would probably hurt sales of the album as the new songs are the main selling point for the fanbase.

Yeah I think that's what they thought Only way he'd get songs charting these days is with a physical release, but then I guess if you take away new material less people would've bought the record, which is already a compilation so not something selling as well as a standard album I can see them doing it at some point though, a vinyl for the fans

I thought 3 acoustic versions on bonus disc are similar sounding to Dead in the Water and What a Life that was aired on May. I hope they have recorded videos too..

It’s absolutely fucking ridiculous “She Taught Me How To Fly” was relegated to 7inch (one sided) for this release. It’s top top tier solo NG.

I’ve loved it since we heard it on Jool’s Holland. I dunno why he limited himself to 18 songs. STMHTF and You Know We Can’t Go Back could have should have rounded it up to 20. The Right Stuff should also have been included in some capacity.

Noel really talked up that track while promoting Chasing Yesterday. Figured a cool remix might pop up on the Bonus CD.

Songs that should have been on there: (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach A Simple Game of Genius Let the Lord Shine a Light on Me The Right Stuff While the Song Remains the Same She Taught Me How to Fly The Man Who Built the Moon
Songs that shouldn't have been on there: Lock All the Doors The Dying of the Light
What's the point of the instrumentals?
