Wait, so when can we hear International Magic? Tomorrow? On the 11th of June. So when it becomes the 11th will depend on your location. If you’re in New Zealand you can fill your boots already.

This bonus disc is proof Noel still isn't a vinyl listener (I remember he said some time ago he collects them but plays CDs/digital). Tracklist SHOULD have been: Side A - 1. IIHAG acoustic 2. TDOTL acoustic 3. TMWBTM acoustic Side B - 1. International Magic 2. BSD Skeleton Key 3. TITP Skeleton Key Side C - 1. Blue Moon Rising remix 2. BSD Reflex Revision 3. one of the instrumentals Side D - 1-3 - the other instrumentals This is going to be a painful vinyl listen, start to finish, with random instrumentals tossed in. Should’ve kept the instrumentals on the cutting room floor IMO and chucked on an AA version or two and the unreleased Reflex remix instead. Or even some of the rarer b-sides. X Yeh; especially It's a Beautiful World... didn't we already get that on the single release (vinyl)??

Judging from the previews, The Skeleton Remixes sound interesting. Black Star Dancing really sounds like a song by The Coral

If I Had A Gun acoustic sounds like the album vocals, but they're much cleaner and raspier in places, really beautiful
Guess I won't listen to the original ever again

Listening to this and you kind of forget sometimes how consistently good his output has been for the last 10 years, the songs are quality and there are at least 5-6 other tunes that could've easily made the cut Lock All The Doors does sound out of place tho, while We're On Our Way Now really fits at the end of side one

Yeah, they are the original vocals. There's definitely elements of the original instruments and effects on this. Paul Stacey is credited as co-producer on all of them. Trying to work out if they are contemporary recordings or if they have been specially done for this record. Remixes from the original sessions, or some newly recorded bits done relatively recently. They all sound nice anyway, If I Had A Gun embarasses the album version.

'Holy Mountain' "remaster": utterly pointless. Original average RMS: 9dB. "Remastered" average RMS: 10db. Almost no dynamic range.
A very slight dip at the higher end above 2K of about 1-1.5db, making it sound a tad less distorted if you really go dig for it. But the harshness and clipping is baked within the mix. Unsalvageable.

Black Star Dancing really sounds like a song by The Coral Funnily enough while listening to this on Spotify I noticed that The Coral were credited as an artist, so I guess they did actually have something to do with it which explains the sound

Good thing I checked my local stores. They said Noel’s best of has been delayed till June 25. Glad I’m not going out on Saturday for nothing.

X Yeah……….none of us needed any instrumentals except for maybe “Wednesday Part 1 and 2” combined back into a single track as Noel originally said it was. Outside of that, don’t need any of them.

Sounds like him. I don't hear Noel.

My boxset is delayed until tommorow It looks like my order from CD Japan is going to be delivered the same day as my order from the official site. That’s a fair auld load of bollocks when you think about it.

Just think the tracklisting is very strange.
It's not really structured like a gig would be but also isn't really structured how a vinyl would be either (i.e. side one and side two on an old LP).
Notable omissions (Broken Arrow, Record Machine - albeit I get why as I don't think it's a great recording of it, You Know We Can't Go Back, She Taught Me How To Fly, MWBTM) aside, I've had a stab at the latter and got this...
Side One 1. Everybody's On The Run 2. In The Heat Of The Moment 3. It's A Beautiful World 4. This Is The Place 5. Black Star Dancing 6. Lock All The Doors (no way this should be in here over some of those others listed) 7. If I Had A Gun... 8. The Death Of You And Me 9. We're On Our Way Now
Side Two 10. Riverman 11. Holy Mountain 12. The Dying Of The Light 13. Blue Moon Rising 14. A Dream Is All I Need To Get By 15. Flying On The Ground 16. Ballad Of The Mighty I 17. AKA... What A Life! 18. Dead In The Water

I got my boxed set today and it's really cool. I love the orange box which holds the cd etc inside even if it is just plain orange.
