Just watched the Virgin Radio Italia interview and Noel's literal quote on the origin of We're On Our Way Now is: "It is an old song that was never finished from around the time of Chasing Yesterday, I think. And I never really got around to finishing it." Even apart from the obvious ones (AA sessions etc.), his vault must be filled to the lid (or to the top of his sock drawer for that matter) with unreleased outtakes, demos, work-in-progress/alternative versions, you name it. There's so many examples he himself mentioned in the past. The early David Holmes-version of This Is the Place (called Nervous Acid or something) springs to my mind. Why does he always play safe? He's not gonna give you demos/unreleased songs cause he's gonna try to get a tune out of that till the day he dies |

After all this speculation literally no-one guessed correctly that the Record Store Day exclusive would be a photo of Noel’s bum.

I guess the cover might well be a reference to the "yellow album", an early days (pre Saturday Night Fever!) Bee Gees-best of, which I remember reading had been played a lot by the band backstage and/or in the recording studio in the 2000's. Always forgot to give it a listen myself.  Also, I wonder if those acoustic version of I Had a Gun and The Dying of the Light will be just the demo versions (from Faster Than the Magic of Magic and the limited vinyl that came with preorders of Chasing Yesterday, if I remember right, which both - in my humble assessment were recorded pre-Oasis split) we already know or different, newer takes. Yeah thats the one! Andy Bell (as I recall) got Noel into this compilation, which is great btw. |

...The bonus cd tracklist is more interesting than the actual best of. I'm only buying it for the bonus CD - not much interest in the actual "Best Of" album itself (apart from the two new tracks). |

CDJapan has the bonus tracks as "includes three live tracks taken from their concert at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2012. This edition includes unreleased track(s). Also comes with an utility case and a postcard set."
I'd assume the Unreleased tracks references International Magic and the likes.

The pre order page on the iTunes Store states ‘Holy Mountain’ is Remastered. It needs a complete remix but at least it was acknowledged that it would sound like absolute shite in amongst the other properly mastered tracks.

The studio version is much too slow and has no sense of urgency compared to its live counterpart. It was a highlight when I saw Noel on his 2011 USA tour. |

Yeah I'm done with remixes upon remixes upon remixes. We got enough of those as b-sides during these solo years. I'd much prefer alt versions, demos, maybe a killer live cut and without question some AA songs. Wasn't the Ballad of the Mighty I supposed to be awesome by them? |
