Agree 200%. I think the EPs contain some of his best solo work, but for me BSD is one of the worst singles of his career. My BTWWC playlist already has STMHTF in its place Believe it or not, BSD is in his top ten most played tracks in Spotify. STMHTF isn’t, despite being released years earlier. X Yes, but BSD probably benefited from being the lead single of the EPs period: the first new song of Noel in two years and the one that got more press attention. If given the chance, I think there are several songs in the EPs that would have done better (but we will never know)

It does surprise me that we only got 2 singles from WBTM? (+ Dead in the Water, true) — but A Dream... made it (not that I don't think ADIAINTGB is amazing — I love it — just surprised).

Oh, come on — you know Riverman is the only single-word solo song he's released, eh?

Lennon2217's iTunes "Best Of" looks like this:
Everybody's On The Run The Death of You and Me AKA...What A Life! (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach Riverman In The Heat of the Moment While The Song Remains The Same You Know We Can't Go Back Ballad of The Might I Holy Mountain It's A Beautiful World She Taught Me How To Fly Black Star Dancing This Is The Place Blue Moon Rising Dead In The Water

She Taught Me How To Fly not being on this is a sin. Its totally a top 3 solo Noel song for me. Love the vibe and energy. Has urgency that so many of his solo material lacks.

Same for Holy Mountain. X

RSD edition will be on yellow/black mixed vinyl. The font and inner sleeves are light blue instead of purple. EDIT: Apparently the print of Noel's ass his ID tag is an exclusive for RSD as well.

So the tracklist is cronological until the CY songs and then said "fuck it, throw it on shuffle"? Lol
The bonus cd tracklist is more interesting than the actual best of.

I was hoping we'd get a version of "It's A Beautiful World" with some sort of cosmic landscape that was originally planned before the Scissor Queen took to the mic.

Was hoopiing for Mighty I 60s version myself.
HES probably got a lot of alternate takes that could have filled the instrumental spots.

I guess the cover might well be a reference to the "yellow album", an early days (pre Saturday Night Fever!) Bee Gees-best of, which I remember reading had been played a lot by the band backstage and/or in the recording studio in the 2000's. Always forgot to give it a listen myself. Also, I wonder if those acoustic version of I Had a Gun and The Dying of the Light will be just the demo versions (from Faster Than the Magic of Magic and the limited vinyl that came with preorders of Chasing Yesterday, if I remember right, which both - in my humble assessment were recorded pre-Oasis split) we already know or different, newer takes.

I don’t see the point of most of the Instrumentals being on this, but I’m happy there’s a bonus disc.
I think the track list needed Sail On and We’re Gonna Get There In The End.
I’m hoping that TDOTL acoustic will be the RTE 2FM version.

When you rule out the instrumentals and chaff we’ve still got a decent RSD EP, can’t complain really, we could have had nothing this year. X

Just watched the Virgin Radio Italia interview and Noel's literal quote on the origin of We're On Our Way Now is: "It is an old song that was never finished from around the time of Chasing Yesterday, I think. And I never really got around to finishing it."
Even apart from the obvious ones (AA sessions etc.), his vault must be filled to the lid (or to the top of his sock drawer for that matter) with unreleased outtakes, demos, work-in-progress/alternative versions, you name it. There's so many examples he himself mentioned in the past. The early David Holmes-version of This Is the Place (called Nervous Acid or something) springs to my mind. Why does he always play safe?
