I think that when Oasis were still together Marcus was a good manager but as soon as they split up and both Beady Eye and Noel released their albums things started to change with him and he seemed to be more interested in managing Noel than Liam's band. And, as the years have gone on Marcus seems to have changed a lot to me. I could be wrong but that what it seems like to me anyway.

He could say that in the beginning and not drop be midway, that was kinda sabotage-y.

Answering the op’s question, “hate” is wrong word, but yeah nobody like them it seems. I think the oasis management is not good at their work, they are just lucky that the fans are loyal. Ugliest merch ever! among other things. it’s a shame for a world known band. I wasn’t there but I read that they were nasty to the fans, about bootlegs and stuff like this. Plus it seems all the original members of oasis (except Noel ofc) had/have issues w them, so they screwed them all (plus Andy and Gem - in their be days). So...

It's kind of Rock n Roll law that managers are hated, except for Peter Grant most seem to rip their artists off. Or maybe I've read far too many stories of 1970's rock bands to tell the difference. Lets go with that.

Liam's had issues with Ignition and therefore I guess Marcus Russell but he's a key player in the Oasis story and Oasis > everything else in my book.
