I once spoke to a person who had been friends with Steve White and I asked him about Alan. First of all, he said he was a really lovely guy, that he'd met him a bunch of times and since leaving Oasis he had made his living in real estate! I asked him about the Oasis departue, whether he had been fired or left and this person immediately said "Oh no, he left" and then elaborated something along the lines of "He just thought, I've had enough of this. I don't like Noel. I don't really like Liam. I can leave now, I've got money and I can go into real estate and that's what he did." I'm paraphrashing. Obviously this is one person's account which may be biased and even if what he says is true, that would be Alan's version of events so it all needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. I absolutely do believe you. But I’m not quite sure I believe your source - it’s hard for me to see Whitey of all people say something like this. I’m not doubting he may have had enough - but the departure aside, I never picked up any tension between Alan and the rest of the band. That’s not to say there wasn’t any, I just didn’t pick it up. Cheers for the share.

Surprised to hear that part about Liam. Yeah, same here. From everything I read, Liam and Alan were inseparable as they were drinking buddies. Maybe that all changed after the brawl in Germany in 2002. But I'd like to think they're on good terms now.

Yeah, I always thought that Liam and Alan got on well in their Oasis days. But who really knows if anything changed between them or not? I guess we'll never find out.

There could have been a small period in time during which Alan hated all of them, couldn't be arsed and had enough. He may have regretted leaving soon after but as we all know, being in a band isn't all sunshine and Knebworth's.

Surprised to hear that part about Liam. Yeah me too! But the Noel part does put more context to the "one musn't grumble in this band" quote. It must have been a insulting to have Noel experiment with drum loops at the point that he did and have Alan play bits over those loops live and it must have been way worst when he saw that all the drum loops were out after Zak joined! Alan's last tours must have been really boring.

No just no, I don't need or want an Oasis reunion and Noel and Liam are better off apart than together in Oasis.

Ha,ha,ha, I doubt very much that they're even in contact with Noel or Liam especially Scott McLeod.

Andy has said in Twitter that if there's a reunion he is in. That was last year iirc when the NHS gig was supposed to happen and Alan started to do the videos on IG

If there was an Oasis reunion (and I hope that there isn't) I doubt very much Noel and Liam would even be able to agree with the line up. Noel would probably want the last one while Liam would want both Bonehead and Alan White in.

No just no, I don't need or want an Oasis reunion and Noel and Liam are better off apart than together in Oasis. I’m certainly loving Noel and Liam’s solo careers - plus Ride - a WHOLE lot more than Oasis after 2002. But I’d be refreshing that Oasis Ticketmaster pre-sale like a crazy person!

The BEST Oasis drummer, especially live.
This subject popped up on a page on FB called 'Britpop News' yesterday. The interesting thing is Steve White has been commenting on some of the posts and defending his brother and saying some stories are "not true"
The replies are definitely from Steve's official page
He hasn't confirmed the reason Alan left but basically did say Noel's version isn't true.
He also confirmed the fact Alan was part of the Oasis company which is possibly why there have been issues using his image etc.since

I have heard that it was because of the HC leaks. Probably a conspiracy though because I don't see why he would have leaked them, as this would have affected him as much as the rest of the band.
Noel claims he fell out with Liam. Another story above coo-berates that. However, another one says he left because he wanted to?
The truth is, we will never know. Alan is obviously a gent and won't through mud at his old pals. That probably suggests that there was no bad blood with them. Tony was happy to slag them, Bonehead has had a small dig at Noel in the past. Guigs has kept quiet.
Truth will never come out and that is probably because it is a dull story. Alan probably just wanted to retire and fair play to him.

IF it was because of the HC leak, then it would have made sense timing wise, because Noel and Liam couldn't really sack him before the HC tour. But I don't know...I just think it was something else and as you said, we'll never find out.

And if Noel and Liam wanted to sack him, I'm sure they would have sacked him even if they were about to go on tour and they could have found 10 drummers willing to go on tour with them quickly like they found Scott McLeod or Matt Deighton. They did it with Tony while they were promoting Some Might Say.
