Image being on the verge to be a massive rockstar in your 20s, being pissed off/almost quit the band after a shit gig, crash land with a cute girl somewhere nowhere in the US, get your shit together after 3 days and come up with Talk Tonight.
There is a reason that Noel does not (want to) remember that girls name. Everything after that moment means a whole lot less.
Sittin' on my own, chewin' on a bone
A thousand million miles from home
When something hit me
Somewhere right between the eyes
Sleepin' on a plane, you know you can't complain
You took your last chance once again
I landed, stranded
Hardly even knew your name
I wanna talk tonight
Until the morning light
'Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are
You and me see how we are
All your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade
And you make sure I eat today
You take me walking
To where you played when you were young
I'll never say that I won't ever make you cry
And this I'll say, I don't know why
I know I'm leavin'
But I'll be back another day
Christ, what must go through his head when he sings this lyics?

I've always loved this song and it's one of my favourite Oasis songs. It's certainly one of their best b.sides.

Love the various versions we have of it too.
This might be my favorite one - it adds a different feeling than the acoustic version. These variations are a huge reason I love Oasis, and why they never get boring.

I haven't listened to the full band version of Talk Tonight for a long time but I do like it but I'm not sure if I like it better than the original version.

Talk Tonight is absolutely immense, pure Noel Gallagher genius.
The fact it's a b-side is just outrageous.
If you look at the track listing for the Some Might Say UK CD single, I mean, most bands don't even have albums that good, let alone a single.

Yeah there are 3 or 4 singles that just don't fucking make sense Some Might Say, Cigarettes And Alcohol, Wonderwall, loads of bands would kill to have those runs of songs on an actual record

Yeah there are 3 or 4 singles that just don't fucking make sense Some Might Say, Cigarettes And Alcohol, Wonderwall, loads of bands would kill to have those runs of songs on an actual record I read somewhere on this forum the other day Noel said himself he couldn't judge the quality of his own songs after 1996 or something. I think it started a lot earlier than that, it's just that the songs were so fucking good from 1993 - 1995 that some had to be b-sides to fill out the singles. It must be one of the reasons they were so big, I can't imagine what it must have been like buying Some Might Say in 1995 and listening to that coming out your cd player as a new release at school or with your mates etc.

Pretty sure Noel said somewhere on some doc how he thought it was just normal to write top songs willy nilly at the time, and that putting a song like The Masterplan as a B-side wasn't a big deal even when management questioned his decision lol.
Then he realised when the songs dried up that he was wrong.
