My beloved, the voice and the man. Of all the big misses from an REM split, it's Michael Stipe not pursuing a solo career. This song with Aaron Dessner shows he's got so much to give still. Still, I really admired the professionalism when REM decided to split - no animosity in the band, no late career embarrassment, just a really dignified exit. Definitely the way that any band should go. This song reminded me of something from Up. By the way, how underrated is that album? Love it. |

The best thing that happened to me this year was finding out that Stipe had released at least a few songs, I never thought to look! Over the moon is way understatement for how that made me feel. That's another beauty, found it hard to decide between that one or "No time for love like now" for this thread.
