It would be great if Liam has performed more than one new song in this boat gig. But I would be surprised if he has. I would be more than happy if he has performed even just one new song, let's hope so

He has been teasing that we hear the new tune soon for ages now, it would be a bit disappointing if he didn't sing it on that boat.

Yeah so this is pretty special can't wait to see it.
2 Questions from this thread though
Has LG been confirmed for the MTV Awards?
When was the last time Hello was played live? As fucking great as it is I thought that song was buried due to Glitter song rights? 🤔

It sounds right but as the philosopher Chuck Berry once said, you' never can tell I think this will just be the gig...Warner would shit a brick someone could have recorded it on a phone while on the Thames.

Does it mean Noel wouldn't allow it/Noel can disprove him playing certain songs that Noel wrote?

The fact that he has busted out Hello is like the cherry on top of his own Beatlesesque Rooftop Boat concert. I am very much looking forward to this.

2003 Heathen Chemestry tour. What does Glitter song rights mean? Does it mean Noel wouldn't allow it/Noel can disprove him playing certain songs that Noel wrote? No, but I guess Noel and the rest of the band werent fond of paying money to Glitter back in the day for every performance of that song.

Okay thanks for clarifying I had no idea that was a band that they had to pay royalties to for a similar song.

For you young folk, Gary Glitter was an early glam rocker, quite influential in British rock, but also turned out to be a sex criminal. He sued Oasis for nicking a portion of his song “Hello, Hello, I’m Back Again” and won a co-writing credit (and thus, royalties). Glitter was subsequently convicted on child sexual assault charges in Vietnam and is currently serving a 16 year prison sentence for, among other things, attempted rape of a 10 year-old. Don’t know British law on the matter, but even if he is still entitled to royalties he certainly can’t use them anymore.

I’m not sure at all tho

I'm surprised there aren't more clips. Londoners must be taking the lockdown very seriously lol I'd have followed the boat all the way! As slow as there were driving the boat, I would have thought about jumping on it from a bridge - wearing my face mask of course.

Love the whole idea of this gig. Does anybody know if this was just a short set or maybe a full gig? He's saying 16 songs! Where did he say that? it's official that there are 16 songs?

Where did he say that? it's official that there are 16 songs? He said it on Twitter. Someone commented that Pistols’ river gig was cooler than his gig, Liam replied that his gig is a way cooler bc he played 16 songs, not 6 lol. They can edit out few songs tho so who knows

Not sure if he would have played anything new in fear of it being recorded and leaked online.

Regarding Gary Glitter I don't know if he sold the rights to his music when he got sent down or not. But he turned out to be a horrible man with the crimes he has committed compared to his glam rock days.

I was curious who does hold the rights and it’s Snapper Music in the UK, which owns his recorded catalog, and the publishing rights in the US are held by Universal Music. So any uses of Hello would purely generate corporate money – it’s not like it’s going to Glitter’s relatives or any individual.
