We got an album in 2017 (Beast), another one in 2019 (Easy), Aaron Dessner produced Taylor Swift’s latest hit album plus he dropped an album in 2018 with Justin Vernon called Big Red Machine and we also get a Matt solo record. Not too shabby. My favorites from the record are mostly the singles; Distant Axis, One More Second, Serpentine Prison and I also really dig All For Nothing. As always, Matt’s voice is licensed to kill.  |

His first solo album is definitely one of the best album 2020 for me. |

I bought the signed deluxe edition with two Blue marbled LP´s and six extra tracks. An expensive one but worth the money. Great packaging and presentation. A beautiful record by a really outstanding voice.

My favourites are Distant Axis, One More Second, Take Me Out Of Town, Serpentine Prison, but I really love Loved So Little. Everytime I listen to this song, I see Matt holding his mic stand, closing his eyes and singing this song with a glass of red wine next to him. |

It’s a complete and wonderful album throughout - but I think Silver Springs is just about the stand out track. Possibly.

I didn't know much about the National until I saw "Mistaken For Strangers" at a film festival - for those of us who enjoy brother dynamics, it is a great film. A couple years ago I did get to see the National - a friend of mine's husband, an avid music lover, was dying of cancer. We decided to go to Vegas and have a good time - why not? So we booked the trip around a National concert at the Hard Rock. Thanks to connections we had amazing seats. And it was - Amazing. Totally made me fall in love with the band. My friend's husband died a few weeks later, but I am so glad we got to do that - see a show, visit with a friend of his that flew in, hang out by the (freezing) pool. You gotta live life even when it is slipping away.

Matt and his brother Tom who produced this documentary attended at the venue and after screening they gave an interview. Matt and Tom have so different character, completely opposite, but it made the documentary unique. |

Love this album, beautiful record. Love the stripped back feel of it compared to the national, One more second, silver springs and the actual serpentine prison tune are my favorites.Bought the deluxe vinyl version and some great tracks on there too. The velvet underground song european son and then you can tell me goodbye are both excellent covers.
