Apparently, when Urban Cookie Collective covered Champagne Supernova over 10 years ago, they wanted to release it as a single but Noel rejected it. After listening to it, can anyone speculate why Noel would not want it released as a single?

Apparently, when Urban Cookie Collective covered Champagne Supernova over 10 years ago, they wanted to release it as a single but Noel rejected it. After listening to it, can anyone speculate why Noel would not want it released as a single? It was the summer of 1996, so 24 years ago. I guess Noel simply didn't want to tarnish the legacy of the tune so quickly after the original was released. His quality control and integrity was a lot higher then, he was proud of the oasis legacy. Now he's happy to make a quick buck from seemingly all cover versions, no matter how good (or bad) they may be. And tellingly he allowed a cover of Wonderwall to be released when the original was still in the top 10, so it seems he just hated the UCC version of Champagne Supernova.
