"Be My Baby" is probably The Ronettes' most well known song. Written by Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry, produced by Phil Spector, the song became a hit in the year 1963, especially in english speaking countries. One of the most recognizable aspects of the song, the opening drum phrase, was re-used in many pop songs throughout the years. The song remains a timeless 60's classic.
What are your thoughts/feelings on the song ?

aww man absolute dejavu here this song reminds me of when I was a kid, maybe 7 or 8. Every saturday afternoon, my aunt and me we used to sit in the car, under the sun and we listened to the radio. They didn't usually play songs in english, but if they did it would be 60s classics like that. A few years ago Noel picked this song for the Desert Islands Discs program and I had the exact same flashback

Great song though I can't say I listen to it much. I do know 2 pieces of trivia about it though: 1) It's Brian Wilson's favourite song and 2) The Jesus & Mary Chain use the exact same drum intro for Just Like Honey.

Also Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers! Such a great song, and just makes you wonder, why the hell no modern pop songs have such great counter/backing vocals anymore?

Yeah, Brian even wrote kind of a part 2 to the song, "Don't Worry Baby". Both utterly beautiful songs.

Yeah, everything is perfectly crafted in the song. When you look back on it, the 60's was a special time cos' a big part of the charts was filled with fantastic songs. The level of songwriting was unreal, the songs were filled with raw emotions and could still reach global success. There are fantastic songs which have been huge success in pretty much every decade, but with the 60's almost everything was to be written in pop, and there was a level of excitement and passion that did attenuate with each decade (with the 90's being kind of an exception).

As a female, especially, from a certain age group, that song mainly reminds me of Dirty Dancing! That's certainly where I heard it first, on the soundtrack. So, I'm sorry to say, mainly for that I have very nice associatins with that song and really like it.

Travis did a cover of this as well, b-side from The Invisible Band.

Aw man, wanted to mention both facts as well. Eddie Money uses a bit of it too in Take Me Home Tonight. Or whatever that song is called. Anyway, it's a classic. Have heard it too much though.
