Good song with loads of potential but poor chorus. Sounds unfinished. This is one that Liam could have worked on with Kurstin and co in fact.
Still, in its original form, it should have replaced one of the shite Gem/Andy efforts.

To me, Soldier On is the perfect closer but Boy with the Blues deserved a better release. Maybe as EP with Stop the Clocks like originally intended, or just an album track.

BWTB would work well as penultimate track on DOYS, with Soldier On closing the album.

Soldier On is absolutely the perfect finish to that album ... just a shame about the rest of the tracks in between that and Falling Down. BWTB definitely could have slotted in there somewhere.

I think Soldier On is utter dogshite, genuinely one of the worst songs Liam has written. I don't see any redeeming features at all. Much prefer Boy With The Blues and agree it should have closed the album.

Soldier On is the perfect album closer but Boy With The Blues is a good song and it should have had a place on Dig Out Your Soul.
