if ryan giggs would have chosen england over wales as his country englands major problem has been the left mid side they tried so many different players, had giggs chose england the left side would have been cemented with speed and playmaking they hadnt had in ages , it would have freed up becks and scholes and created more chances for shearer and owen , and maybe resulted in a euro title or a world cup...thoughts?

i dont think it would have made any difference - cause if erikkson would probally play him at right midfield

Giggs hasn't had the best of luck injury wise...has only played for Wales about 50odd times...Not that many for someone of his age.
Don't think it would have made too much of a difference.

england have a good enough squad to win any competition. You cant blame one position on past results. every team havs this problem. Giggsy would have fitted in but chose to play for his birth country, thats like me saying Ireland could have got so far if Rooney decided to play for us.

FAIRPLAY.. but giggs had a choice and i just think the left mid position was a weak spot

Ryan Giggs couldn't play for england it is an urban myth, he was born in Wales and his family is Welsh. As for Englands left side Alan Thompson could have solved this problem for the past few years.

This question could also be - how different would Wales' fortunes in World Cup and Euro Championship qualifying have been if Michael Owen had chosen to play for his home country instead of England?
