Jesus, I'm just watching Pickford's criminal tackle on VVD. Not a penalty and red card because of an inexistant offside and then Henderson's disallowed goal... what the actual fuck. Aye VAR can spot somebody being apparently half a cm offside but can’t spot thon Everton keeper trying to kneecap Van Dijk? Haha, it’s terrible. So glad we don’t have it!

Tottenham 3-3 West Ham
Spurs were 3-0 up after 16 mins, and until the 83rd minute where West Ham scored 3 goals in the last 10 minutes. Final result 3-3. Insane!
What the fuck. I need to start watching matches - Spurs vs. West Ham isn’t the pinnacle of my weekend, tbh. And when I saw Spurs up 3 I stopped following it, until well after the final whistle.
Wild as fuck matches this season - most certainly linked both directly and indirectly to the fall out of Covid. Understandably so, of course.

I wonder if Covid Season is going to produce a weird final table - very early, but trending that way.
Shock winners? Shock relegated teams?

I have a feeling that this will be a very close season, with the winner to have no more than 85 points. It's going to come down to the wire.

Feels like it's gonna be a game of who can be fatigued the least, to me - both physically and mentally.

City were unable to defend the Prem last year with Laporte injured for most of the season (Sané too)—it will be a tall order for Liverpool to win the league this season without VVD.

Over 40 cases of Covid in the Premier League. Don't think there will be a break though as they want to finish the season before the Euro's start.

If anything summed up the ridiculous overhype of the Premier League, then that game against Liverpool and Man Utd was it.
So easy to give up on this league when the big matches constantly fail to entertain, the hype is just false and the punditry and media analysis is just appalling.

While seen from the outside it seems overhyped (but you've got more top players than the rest), this is such a weird season that I wouldn't be too harsh regarding the inconsistency and overall level of games No team has managed to look sharp week in and week out anywhere in the top leagues bar maybe Atletico and Milan surprising everyone in Italy With that said, I do think the current Man U squad is overrated and there's no way they're still up there at the end of the season, Ole's just not good enough, I can see Man City stealing this season if they can keep a bit of this momentum going, but european cups will certainly mess up with teams again Also, I do think no league could really claim to be "the best in the world" and be met with general consensus I just don't see any league being as dominating and full of talent and well coached teams like Serie A was 20 years ago, the PL 14-13 years ago or La Liga up until a couple of seasons back

City look favourites to me. Liverpool's injuries will cost them I think (although they defended well yesterday) and United won't be consistent enough.

The punditry is so much more in depth, less tabloid trash sensationalism and generally more restrained. The English league, as close as it is, is predictable. Man City will win it easily. Man Utd overrated, Liverpool injury crisis will do it for them, Leicester will fall off, Chelsea are just shit because of Lampard, Everton may sneak top four. There’s going to be no surprises.

Meh, I'd say the same stuff about the italian league shitty punditry aside from 3 or 4 guys (mostly on DAZN, so you don't hear from them much), shitty journalism with a lot of off-the-pitch focus and the talent level has been going down, the only good thing right now is that even bad teams are trying to play their own football instead of sitting at the back and parking the bus Germany's fun, probably the funniest league to watch at the minute, although you know Bayern's winning it 99 times out of 100, my problem with it is that if you're having a bit more of an analytical look the defending's absymal May be a biased take (I was a ticket holder before this all kicked off), but I also believe the lack of fans has affected it all much more than we think, you just look at the big games and what you get are almost friendly-like vibes

TIL most people don't know the offside rule, Rodri was making a tackle not receiving a pass so there's no way he should've bee judged as offside.

The instant Mings controls the ball, it's a new phase of play. Was funny to see him - a professional footballer - calling the decision ridiculous on Twitter in the same tweet that he admits that he had "never heard" of the rule. Kind of your job, mate.

Exactly, I don't know when everyone suddenly decided that challenging the last defender for the ball and winning it from an offside position is offside but I'm happy to see them cry about it. Watching braindead Rio Ferdinand complain that the ref made the wrong decision and then backtracking to argue that the rules aren't black-or-white enough as soon as the rule was explained to him was also pretty great. Like I get football players are supposed to be stupid but when they can't even understand the rules of the game they get paid exorbitant amounts of money to play it really takes it to a new level.

This was a 68 game unbeaten run from Liverpool that ended.
Real Madrid once went 146 games unbeaten at home.
Jose Mourinho once went 150. Insane. One of those stats you just can't believe even though you know it's true.

Kinda crazy how many players don't know the actual rules
