Sorry if this has been done before but which is better? A hard one I know as they're both great songs.

If songs could be judged objectively The Masterplan would be the best song Noel Gallagher's even written
Acquiesce is a great song itself, but not as good as TM and I would say there are at least 3 or 4 othe b sides I d take over it

I voted The Masterplan but these two songs are my favourite b.sides and I thought it would be I interesting which one came out on top.

The Masterplan, it's like The Importance of Being Idle where every single second of it is amazing, even Noel doing Octopus’s Garden at the very end.

The Masterplan by some considerable distance.
The only b-side I genuinely think should have been tucked away for Be Here Now.

Acquiesce is the song which was born to be played live (and sung by both brothers). The Masterplan is one of the best songs Noel ever written.

To be honest once upon a time The Masterplan was my favourite Oasis song until it changed to Columbia. And, it'll always be in my Oasis top 5. It certainly one of the best songs Noel has ever written. Acquiesce however will always be in my top 10 favourite Oasis songs.

While I agree that The Masterplan is an incredible song, I personally listen to Acquiesce more often...I love it because it's one of the few tracks where Liam and Noel both have main vocals.

Yeah, I agree with you about Acquiesce that it features both Noel and Liam on main vocals. That's why I love it even though The Masterplan just edges it for me. But they're both incredible songs.

Well they're not really comparable as they are completely different. Acquiesce is an amazing rock song (although the studio version is a little dull. I first heard it live so I was disappointed by the studio version) with both brothers singing on it. So that is, to quote Noel, the architypical Oasis song. Rock, Gallagher brothers, positive lyrics, etc. But, without the emotional side of the song come into play. If a non-Oasis fan heard it on the radio, I'm not sure it would get the same praise.
But The Masterplan is nearly a masterpiece. Beautiful song, profound lyrics, an orchestra, etc. Pure quality. The emotional side of it is more universal as opposed to Acquiesce.

‘Acquiesce’ is quintessential Oasis but I voted for ‘The Masterpiece’

Thats a good one. I probably listen to Acquiesce more, but as a piece of songwriting I'm gonna say The Masterplan. Just.
I think it has better, more sophisticated lyrics, and also the arrangements are very impressive to my ears. I prefer Liam as a singer overall, so I miss his presence on the tune, but its one that suits Noel's voice well.
So its maybe a 9/10 against a 8.5/10. But a close call.

Acquiesce more my type of Oasis song.
It's classic them.

All about personal taste. I have always preferred the rockier Oasis songs, so it's Acquiesce by a long way for me. Both of them singing and with the crowd, it is quite something to witness.
