For some reason I always imagined them being recorded during summertime.

Looking at gigs from ‘96 I’m thinking it must have been late Jan or early Feb but anyone know for sure? It was May - June time. Oasis played at Maine Road at the end of April, then they had three months off between those gigs and the big outdoor shows, MTV Unuplugged and ultimately that doomed American tour. The demos were played backstage at Knebworth. Some of the songs had been cobbled together in soundchecks between late 1995 and early 1996 (My Big Mouth, Do You Know What I Mean, I Hope I Think I Know), while others, like Girl In The Dirty Shirt, All Around The World, Don't Go Away and Stand By Me, had been knocking about a while.

I'm 95% sure it was May 1996.

Thanks all! While trying to research this I noticed that the gigography on the official website completely misses out the Maine Road gigs and Knebworth!

According to Q Magazine (R.I.P.) it was 25th May - 21st June 1996. This is accurate, though I believe he didn't physically get to Mustique until the 26th (he may have left London on the 25th). He was there for about 4 weeks with Owen Morris joining him for the last two. Edit: Adding that Paolo Hewitt lists May 25th as the day Noel and Meg left for "a month's holiday in Mustique" (pg 386 of Getting High).
