Second Bite Of The Apple is ok but it's not the best song on BE or one of Beady Eye's best songs. However, one thing I do like about it is that it's a bit different it's the lyrics that are awful.

I do like BE but it's not an album which I listen to much these days. But it's always nice to hear it once in a while. The album in itself was much better than Different Gear Still Speading.

Although there are some weak moments here and there BE had character and it feels more like an album to me than why me why not, which has good songs but has a compilation vibe to it. BE felt mature and its a pity it was noft their first album, cause I think the public would have reacted better to it than to dgss, which was fun but rushed and chaotic.

The album in itself was much better than Different Gear Still Speading. Disagree there. DGSS is much better and has better *commercial* type bangers on it.

DGSS was a derivative mess- artwork was poor, songs were half assed (with some good moments) the fact that it reinforced the worst about what people thought about Oasis and its cultural touchpoints killed BE dead.

To be honest, I could never get into this album as a whole when it came out. I then gave it another try in 2017 after As You Were came out, and it still didn't click with me. Of all the albums its the one I come back to least, as even on DGSS i spin Four Letter Word and The Roller a bit. Sometime i may have to give BE another spin....
I didn't mind Flick of The Finger, Second Bite Of The Apple and Start Anew, but that's about it. The production was a welcome departure and creates a nice, less-plodding atmosphere, but for the most part the tunes just aren't there. To me, it's exactly like how Noel described SOTSOG in the Time Flies interview clips.

It's a shame that they didn't have more success than what they did at the time.

Not listened to it since 2013 but FOTF was pretty good, SBOTA and Soul Love were alright and the rest...meh.

The weakest Gallagher related album for me, the only tracks I like are:
Flick of the Finger Second Bite of the Apple Soon Come Tomorrow Don't Brother Me Ballroom Figured Start Anew

I really like BE. The lyrics aren't complicated, but there's a sweetness to them that I enjoy listening to. Flick of the Finger is absolutely fantastic, definitely in my top ten Gallagher tunes, and there are a bunch more that I like a fair bit - Face the Crowd, Iz Rite, Shine a Light, Ballroom Figured, plus some of the bonus tracks.
I'll agree about Second Bite of the Apple, though. I find that one genuinely unlistenable. I didn't hear it as a single, just on the album, and I think I went through the whole album three or four times before I heard Apple all the way through (because I wasn't paying attention and didn't get to the "skip" button fast enough). It blows my mind that it was the lead single.
