Just watched this video of the band at Reading Festival on 25/8/00, one of the final gigs of the SOTSOG tour.
I think this gig has to be up their with the bands best gigs. When the bands best gigs are mentioned on this forum and elsewhere this gig seems to get forgotten ...I know I’m guilty of forgetting it!
At the time there were rumours that the band would split up and this would be the last gig. Noel had reportedly quit overseas touring with the band from May that year following an argument with Liam. It’s the gig where Noel says at the beginning “this isn’t the funeral”.
Some real energy and passion going on at this gig. I remember listening to it on the radio at the time, it was broadcast live in BBC Radio 1 I think. I’m sure they stopped rock n roll star telling the lighting guy to put the lights on the crowd and then started it again. Great performance of acquiesce

Yes apologies I was wrong it was the Leeds festival gig on 28th August 2000 that was broadcast on the radio. It is also where Noel makes the “sorry to say this ladies and gentlemen but this isn’t the fucking funeral” comment. Both great gigs in the bands history none the less

Yeah I remember listening to Leeds on radio 1 too. Like you say the rumours were rife that this was going to be the end of Oasis and Noel was gearing up for a solo album. Weird to think they carried on as a band longer after this time than they were one before!

Yeah, I was there and probably my favourite Oasis gig,
Thunderstorm helped above, crackling tension on stage.
Great “pair” with Liam Reading 2017 at the peak of that first comeback year.
Yeah, all in, those two are my favourite Gallagher gigs, with an honourable mention to Glasto 2017.

The Reading Festival 2000 gig was good but I've always liked the Leeds one better. I have both of them on bootleg cds.

It's a shame that the full Oasis gig at the Reading Festival has never been shown and isn't available online.

SOTSOG final gig is Leeds festival, not Reading.

Yeah, I know that the Leeds Festival was the final gig from the Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants tour. But I would love to see the full gig from the Reading Festival.
